It depends a lot on the rest of your army... And what you want in there in the first place. If you have lots of skinks, you won't want a saurus BSB. It also depends on what you want the BSB to do. A saurus one can sit in a saurus unit and strengthen them while being part of the centre of your lines and support everyone, he gives combat and leadership. The Slann one will be useless for combat, but will save you having to take a hero choice for a BSB if you don't want one and will almost certainly be at the centre of your line.

The skink one... Well he is a bit more fragile. I see several people giving him the cloak of feathers, fly him all over the place and use the standard to win combats easier, then toward the end add his leadership wherever you think it will be needed. I will be trying a skink BSB on stegadon, the added combat res will hopefully ensure the steg wins by even more giving a greater chance of the opponent fleeing, and it will be near combat.
