Hi all, Lapsed player, getting back into the hobby during quarantine. First up on the painting docket: A 5e Skink Priest! This was really fun to paint. I love all the little details on this sculpt. More skinks and some terradons to follow soon, I hope!
Great work! I really like how you made the little frog on the skink priest's staff into an orange and black-spotted poison dart frog!!
Thanks! There are so many fun frog color schemes in nature - It was actually really tough to pick one...
Next up: A unit of Terradons! I took a little bit of inspiration from GW examples and also from the Draco Lizard on this one:
Thanks very much! Yeah, I have a lot of legacy models kicking around in my game/hobby closet. I'm working on some classic skinks next. Looking to get myself up to 500 pts of painted models to be able to run a small skirmish here & there...
Welp, over the past several weeks, I have had the opportunity to learn that painting large units of infantry quickly is not exactly my strong suit. Nevertheless, here are 40 x 5th Edition Skinks, armed with curvy blowpipes that are TOTALLY NOT BOWS!
Painted up a Terradon Chief to get that sweet, sweet rock-drop-buff. Went with what we can call a "melanistic" colour scheme (I mean, we can go with "black hotrod" too if we like) so that they can stand out a bit on the tabletop.
Skink Starpriest ready to drop some mad buffs onto the table... So, this model was actually surprisingly annoying to paint. There are some really tough angles I needed to hit in order to get my brush to some of the spots I wanted it to go!
Kroxigor have always been a fav unit of mine, so I rebased an old unit I had in the closet onto round bases for AoS purposes. The colour scheme for the little snake is based on an Asian Coral Snake, fyi
