Hi there, I am trying to upgrade my working 1k army to 1.5k since my opponents don't want to play smaller games anymore. Now I read fairly a lot on this forum but due to my lack of experience I have some troubles.. So here are my ideas and thoughts: I want to use a Slann thats for sure and I will not bunker him in TG. I might run him solo or bunker him in some skirmishers. He will be BSB I will take one block of at least 30 Saurus with H&S, full commando. Chameleon skinks will be in in a unit of around 6. Two Packs of Salamanders with extra handlers. And two units of skink skirmishers as well as a LVL2 Skink priest. Forgetting for a moment magical artifacts this is around 1146 points. Not to confuse everyone too much here are my questions: 1) What should I do with the Slann, in terms of equipment and disciplines? Ethereal worth it here? 2) Is LVL2 on the skink necessary? Or should I even put him on a EoTG? 3) how to fill up the remaining points? another skink unit? another saurus unit? just fill up the saurus? 4) do I need a scar vet? Questions over Questions. I would really appreciate some feedback of any kind! Best -G-
Hello! I would suggest the following army: -slann,with 2 disciplines(loremaster (life) and ethereal) equipped with crown of command this is a very universal build for this low point army, you can have him soloing on the map, but its more usefull if he joins a block of sauruses (they would get almost as good as TG-s, exept for -1 S and WS) -a cowboy for bsb: scar veteran on cold one, light armor, shield, talisman of preservation, charmed shield good for hunting donw small irritating units, this is the bsb for point limits -skink priest,lvl2, dispell scroll have dispell scroll always,it can save life -30 saurus, hw,sb,chapion (no mus) -3x10 skink skirmisher to annoy blocks, great ability to hunt down big monstas -9 cham skinks 9,cuz this way opponent needs to kill 3 of them to cause panic, if you have 6, only 2 cas,and the rest runs -2 salamander hunting pack you can bring them as a single unit,or 1-1, your choice, if you bring them together, you can resurrect one. they are very good against high armored units or any big blocks. they are very mobile, always try to get these bad boys to the opponent side, and make sure you spit on as many models as you can. also, you can use these,to 'accidentally' spit into close combat: if there is a legal target of the spit in range, you can nominate it as target, but can land in cc. in other words: move them next to an enemy block in cc, nominate an enemy unit in range (make sure the vector of the spit goes truogh the enemy block) and enjoy the screaming of the burning opponents if you have a specific question, feel free to ask
Ok thx for the reply so far. I made two list and just wanted to ask you what you guys think? The first is with a scar-vet was bsb whereas in the second the solo slann is the bsb. I am not sure. Do I need a lvl2 priest? Should I go with a steg/EoTG? List #1 Slann (370) - Rumination - Higher state - Plaque of Tepok - divine plaque of protection Priest (150) - LVL2 - Ruby ring - Dispel scroll Scar-Vet (133) - BSB - Standard of Discipline - Shield - Light Armour 39 Saurus (459) - Full commando 10 Skink skirmishers (70) 12 Skink skirmishers (84) 6 Chameleon Skinks (72) Salamder (80) - extra snack Salamder (80) - extra snack List #2 Same as above but with Slann (345) - Higher state - Plaque of Tepok - divine plaque of protection - BSB Scar-Vet (120) - enchanted shield - burning blade - Light Armour and I still have 40 pts left over... So what do you say?
