Hello everyone, I love dinosaurs, like alot. So when the new list came out I was excited about the amount of dinos you could field, but I feel that perhaps I would get a comp hit and no one would want to play me if I took a Dino heavy list. So, Do you think these list can be friendly? If so what kind of list would be fluffy and still be kinda competitive?

I think any more then 2 Stegadons/carno will be a comp hit for the time being (as it would be for any other list, 3 terror causing monsters? Come on). Once people get used to them I think it will level out at 3 being the acceptable threshold (unless some of them are EoTGs where you will get a comp hit regardless).

Hard to tell until they have played a bit and people have faced them or got used to them.. I think 2 stegs and a carno isn't too bad, but it depends on what you are facing. It will get smashed by some lists.

steg saurus list = unfair list

    steg skink list = balances,

basically make sure your dino are making up for somthing your missing in the army,
like replacing saurs for staying power no one has a right to complain,

But if you have that many big things, wouldn't you not have much room points wise for saurus? My friend tells me they cost a lot of points.

In my experiance in 40k (which probably doesn't apply here), there is a tyranid list called "'Nidzilla" where you have few troops and up to 8 monstrous creatures, and I for one definatly am against that. You just about have to tailor you list to beat it.

Yep, you can afford probably 2 units of saurus tops with 3 big monsters if you want them a decent size (the units not the monsters :p). Of course the list suffers because it will have no points for support, all you will really do is charge, like Brets. It is min/max, which are obviously not balanced lists. They are not flat out overpowered, but some lists will have very little chance against them while others will go well.

It depends on why you collect the army and what setting you are playing in. I am collecting the army because of the stegs, carnosaur and saurus, so they are what I want. I could probably produce a more powerful list if I dropped some stuff, I could easily produce a weaker list, I am taking the models I like and after a few battles if it proves to be too unbalanced, I will change it around a bit as needed.

Sadly Unless you try and make ur army skink happy you will probably take a comp hit... (although i have no experience at all ) (only played like 3 games)
