Classic Carnosaur! To get him to butt up against units I raised him up. It gave him a great king of the jungle posture. Once I had him all painted up, I couldn't add a rider. He looked too cool on his own. Still, I wanted to have a Scar-Veteran with him (I plan on getting the new kit to use as an Oldblood someday.) That's how I came up with this idea - a great old warrior, a Scar-Veteran blessed by Haunchi to have great speed. (M7!) Because of his prodigious hunting abilities, the Skinks gifted him the Egg of a Carnosaur - which he now uses as a big damn hunting dog. I'm pleased with the parallel in their expressions. Both poised for violence and roaring at their prey. The base is one of my better ones as well. I'm fairly pleased with all the blue gems as well, though the pics don't show it. Hope you like them.
It is not as realistic as you say I tried to paint something that looks approximatively correct (copying a picture in a book), and then I used a gloss varnish several times to finish it To be honest, the effect is a little better in photo, but I am really glad that everybody seem to like it. It was the first time that I tried to do something original and clearly different of my usual bases, and I was anxious about the result! Hasael
My first Carnosaur. This was an attempt to make use of the old model now that big brother is around.....
