i just looked at the FAQ for chakax and was wondering if its that the opponent in a challenge gets the Always strike last special rule or if they just strike last regardless. If its the 1st case then would it just go off of initiative bc chakax has a great weapon and the ASL special rule?
He gives them the Always Strike Last rule now as per the FAQ. So, if the char/champ he is fighting has Always Strike First then that char/champ will go on their initiative and Chakax will go last. If the char/champ doesn't have ASF then they will both go at the same time.
Chakax is an awsome character I think it should be cheaper to take him. Like 225 for him would be reasonable for him instead of 335.
Problem with him is that he has a great weapon, so always strikes last too. He will rarely have a higher initiative than anyone so basically that rule is useless now.
To get the most out of chakax you really have to buff him with lore of light imo. Get birona's off on him and then he will get to go before pretty much anyone but HE. I have only used him once, but in that game he took out a decked out Ogre Tyrant in a challenge, a BSB and a Butcher. That being said, there was a good amount of luck involved there and I wouldn't use him again unless they errata'ed that great weapon thing.
I used him once and he died in the second round of that combat. I was very disappointed in his performance. I would much rather take a scar-vet and tool it up for a challenge.
If thay had just erated his magic Great weapon to be just a two handed +2 st weapon, he would have worked the same way he did in 7th...
In 7th Chakax's enemy ASL rule was even better as the rule said his rule overrides any other special rule so he would always strike first unless someone else has a similar overrides part to their special rule. The overrides part of the rule stopped other rules from getting irresistable foce v immovable object dice-off.
