    ok have a question:
if i issue a chalange, he exepts, we fight, nobody dies, what happens then?
infantry models fight or not? (heroes ar in infantry blocks)
or do we wait for another turn to fight (no infantry fights) a chalange and do so until some one dies?
    than you in advance

I believe that if the challenge is between the two unit chapions, the rest of the unit carries on close combat as normal after their challenge. Then, next turn, you continue the challenge. If it is a single model that has charged you (and you challenged him), then no other combat can happen because that model is in a challenge with your champion.

I think that is how it works.

No problem. I think it is cool that I am finally learning enough of the rules to be able to answer some questions. :smug:

I think there are only two cases where a challenge can end, the most obvious being if one party dies. The second one is if one of the units loses combat and fails their leadership test to flee.

On a sort of related note... In unit vs unit combat - if your champion/characters are in base to base contact, can you direct attacks at the character without a challenge?

Absolutely. It is often a better way to go as well because you can get more models attacking them. The disadvantage, of course, is there is no overkill in normal combat so you may waste a few successful wounds.

If I am charging with a fairly powerful unit (especially cavalry) I often like to direct my unit champs attacks onto theirs. If you are fairly confident you will wipe the front rank, this means there is no unit champ to attack back.
