I've ordered my first lizard unit but I have no army book yet. Even the 8th edition rule book hasn't shown up. I've read a bit online and it sounds like HW/S is the way to go for my first saurus regiment, but I have no idea how useful the champion, musician, or the banner are. Should I assemble these guys - or just build 16 warriors?

    Thanks!

Full command is pretty much a standard, You should certainly build them, Also, the banners for saurus are beautiful

Banners are really important, they give you an extra point in combat resolution when in close combat. In other words, help you win combat and not run off

Musicians are also used in combat, If you both have the same combat res, a musician can break the tie. Also, you can use a musician to reform your unit. So they can face another direction or widen out for more attacks or ranks.

Champions come with an extra attack! Which is awsome, also they can challenge enemy characters / champions. So if they have a big nasty magic sword that'll do real damage to a unit, you challenge with the champ and they fight their own little combat, if he declines your challenge he cant hit your unit because he runs to the back of his squad because he's scared. This can take a big punchy Vamp lord or something and knock him out

Hope that helped you a bit. Welcome to lizardmen, and the forums. Good luck assembling your force! :D

Except of course they can accept with any character/champion. Still a good idea though!
