saurus and salamanders + some skinks on the side. other than that either 2 priests or a scar vet/oldblood with cc gear is what i'd take. you might want chameleons to take out war machines

I would go all out Skinks...

l2 Priest with Plaque of Tepok and Ruby Ring of Destruction,

16 Skinks with 2 Kroxigor, Standard

    16 Skink Skirmishers

    4 Terradons

    2 Salamanders

    2 Bases of Swarm

= 800 pts on the nose.

Salamanders behind swarm, Skirmishers on opposite flank.

Terradons wreck war machines, Skink Priest is as offensive as possible.

It's big, it's fast and it has a little of eveything.

except staying power. with 2 kroxigor you got a unit 6 wide? to protect the kroxigor? thats a 6x4 unit, a unit of 18 models most with T2, its gonna lose and fast it will lose steadfast quite early and then they're dead. also its a Ld 6 army, even with cold blooded salamanders, warpfire throwers, screaming skull catapults and even the burning head will make it run pretty fast.

also, swarms? even basic infantry will beat it in 1 turn of CC and they aither get aspeed boost or a free reform. either more Skrox units, and bigger or go for saurus. and chameleons instead of terradons. since they ccan now scout within 12" no matter teh line of sight and war machines aren't immune to poison anymore they are much better than terradons.

i'd still adivse for saurus, or at least a scar vet as the general. i jsut doubt a full skink army has any chance in a competitive enviroment.

I would be shooting for out-maneuverability. I like my Saurus, but only in massive units.

    No Lords in 800p.

    I would go with this:

    Skinkpriest lvl 2, Dispel Scroll.

24 saurus with spears, banner and musician.

2 Kroxigors with 16 skinks banner, Brave and musician

    3 Terradons

    10 Skink Skirmishers

This List allowes you to hide the Priest with the Kroxigors, and if challenged you got the Brave to take care of that part.

    GL. :)

    I would go:

    Scar vet-- LA, GW, Dragonhelm

24 Saurus-- spears, FC (vet goes here)

    22 Skinks, 2 Krox-- Std/M

    6 Chameleon Skinks

    Salamander

800 on the nose. You have a combat hero with lord line stats, 2 solid infantry units (one with a boatload of attacks, the other is fast and can rip through armor if needed) a scouting unit to kill warmachines/solo wizards, and the sally is great for weakening units and causing panic.

i like it. maybe you could reinvest the point difference between the horned one and the cold one, there's really no reason to take one for saurus teh way i see it, i sometimes mount my skink priests on 1 of them.

an ASF sword would be nice, attacks are at high strenght and in low point games every casualty usually means that you'll get less attacks in return

The problem with mounting him is that he won't get a look out sir roll against any war machines/template spells you'll be going up against. I think you'd be better of with something like armor of fortune, shield, and gold sigil sword, (2+ AS, 5+ ward, attacks at ini 10) and sticking him in one of the saurus units.

I just liked the idea of a quick killing leader who was tougth as nails
halberd is +1 strenth and horned one has higher IN without stupidity for what 10-15 points

As for look out sir i wasnt worrying too much about that as most enemies would prio sallamanders.
At any rate if they focus on any one aspect then the others will just destroy them.

    One question

should i drop one salamander for a priest?
im aware of the (lack of) magic defence from magic?

Magic defence is important cos' every game I played at the school league I faced a wizard.
Or you could just kill them using a fast scar vet, but they hide.

Plz check my list too on another thread in this forum..

i think a big saurus unit, some skinks or chamo skinks to deal with warmachines and some flanking sallies.
and ofc a skink priest or 2.

    this could be an idea:

    HEROES
    skink priest
    plaque of tepok

    skink priest
    plaque of tepok

    CORE
    30 saurus!!
    full com.

    SPECIAL
    2x5 chamoleon skinks

    RARE
2 salamander, one on each flan
    extra snack

    800pts on the dot

ok thats a realy big unit with saurus at only 800pts, but i think it might work.
what you can do is let the skinks work as fankers, and the sallies as flank guard for your saurus block.

I went with 20 saurus and 3 krox for my infantry, add that to 17 skinks and a scar veteran with sigil word. And a salamander. I won all three games with that list. Skinks and sally on the flanks, priest gets spell and does something useful, and saurs and krox hold the line (or as once what happened was I killed a vamp's unit and the rest of the army crumbled, but general vamp died of course).
