    Hey guys

    https://www.games-workshop.com/en-EU/Seraphon-Army-2017

    So this Package contains a Starter Box ( 65 ), 1 Stegadon ( 46 ) and 1 unit of skinks ( 30 )

and costs 141euro. 65 + 46 + 30 is exactly that so no discount here - not even by a bit.

Am I missing something here or they just made a bigger - cooler looking pack - for new people that wish to join our awesome army ?

It is only 24 Skinks, as usual (dammit GW....)

Without a discount it is pretty meh. Will just create a backlog, but I think I agree it is a good starting point for an army so that's probably the reasoning behind it.

Look for it on line and get it with a 20% discount, good value then.

This is exactly the GW I know.
Back in the days (but not so long ago), the "cumulative orders" were exactly that way: 0% discounts.

Kinda a Xmas special offered by Scrooge.

Yeah that's pretty poor to be honest. No wonder I buy my stuff elsewhere.

Same goes for all the other army boxes. The only advantage compared to the starter sets is that they're actually starting to look like vaguely fleshed out armies as opposed to just a random big guy with some fodder on the side.

I think the Seraphon Army on GW's site is marketed towards someone who is interested in giving a gift, but doesn't necessarily know the nuances of collecting Seraphon.

The armies in general seem to be aimed at people starting a given arm but want to have some vague clue of what they should get. The start collecting boxes all tend to be too much a loose collection of random stuff to fullfill that role. with the armies they're actually starting to look like something.

I lulz at all the core being almost unusable units. Field that in AoS and basically either dont use a third of the units or pay full points for like 2 models.
