A series of new FAQs just got posted at GW's site. One of the more interesting changes in the main FAQ is that monstrous cavalry now uses the best wounds and toughness of the models. This means that a dark elf on a dark peggie is now T4 and not T3 so Chuck Norris is even tougher than ever to kill !! PS - for those who don't know, Chuck Norris is a dark elf lord on dark peggie with the pendant of Khaeleth & crown of command - LD 10 stubborn, 1+ save and reverse ward save now with a new and improved toughness!!
No, because they are on a "monster" and not a "monstrous beast". It seems just about every new book is including some type of monstrous cav in it so perhaps this is a way increasing sales for demi-gryph knights or similar troops that would have been T3 under the old rules. Here's hoping that carnies get turned into monstrous beasts!!
I got excited at the prospect of t6 slinks!! I don't quite get this though. Do you not roll to allocate and see whether you hit rider or beast?
Hit allocation only occurs when the mount is a chariot or monster, not a monstrous beast. As soon as the MB is the mount, the rider and mount are treated as a single model just like cavalry.
For me, the T4 Dark Elf is weaker than the normal one. Why? Because now str 5 makes his reverse save fail on 5 and 6 not only 6, and makes his AS a 3+. So he will die quick. Yes he got buffed uf vs ogre MM and other low ster no as shots but got weakers vs other
what? the reversed save is based on the strength of the attack. what toughness the rider has doesnt factor in. you should check your DE book again
