    Howdy everyone!

I'm Chunk, a pretty new user, since I've only recently started Lizardmen, but, with the delivery of my first models, I can get truly stuck in!

So, hopefully I'll be able to do daily/weekly updates, various busyness notwithstanding.

Now, I feel it's important to state that I actually haven't settled on a paint scheme yet (Shock-horror!), but I was leaning on a yellow skin/green scales kind of deal, and I'll hopefully have a Saurus and a Skink test model up by the end of the week. If any of you have some great ideas for how to go about doing this, I would be much obliged. Or, if you just have a funky idea for any paint scheme, don't be afraid to suggest away, at this stage I'm very open to any ideas.

So, without further ado, commence Macross Picture Massacre!

Here are the sprues that I got in the mail today, all up: 64 Saurus Warriors and 48 Skinks! You can check out my 2000pt army list using these soon-to-be bad boys in the relevant section. Feels good, man.

I shamelessly copied a conversion idea from Lord Tsunami and converted some Sallies out of Kroot Hounds, mainly to save money. I don't think they look as good as his conversions, but they aren't fully painted yet. This is sort of an example of what kind of scheme I was thinking of going for, this one used Vomit Brown for the spines and Castellan Green for the skin, Dheneb Stone for the claws. Not convinced about the vomit brown, to be honest.

Finally, here's the OOP salamander I had for some reason (I honestly don't know why, it was just in one of my "miscellaneous warhammer model" shoeboxes, complete with handlers!), and I thought I'd use him instead of shelling out $50 AUS for ONE Salamander hunting pack.

So there you go, not really much progress but I'll be back tomorrow to show you all how many models I've built and so forth, so stay tuned and such!

PS: Big shout-outs to Lord Tsunami, T'hinker'er, and Totzro, as it was your project logs that inspired me to not only start my own, but to build a Lizardmen army in the first place!

Going with yellow or orange is pretty solid IMO. After blue it seems to me to be the next most popular. And Totzro does it best IMO. Good call. ;)

Welcome and congrats on your impressive pile of sprues! I like the yellow skin idea, but coupled with green scales... Hmm. Maybe if you go yellowish green, that would look better. Or really dark green. Well, it all depends on your painting skills. I think that I, myself, wouldn't be able to make yellow work with many hues of green. Good luck and hopefully you'll show us the results soon!

Good news, everyone! My Slann Mage-Priest arrived! So now I can really get my army going.

I've been working on a couple of test models for my colour scheme, and I think they look alright!

    SaurusWarriorTest21.jpg
First up is a Saurus Warrior. I really like the contrast of the dark green scales and the yellow shield. I didn't want to use gold on the shield's edging because I was afraid it'd just meld into the yellow too much, hence the silver instead. I'm thinking of using silver edging on the weapons too, what do you think?

Next is a Skink skirmisher, with the scales and skin colour reversed, since I think Skinks benefit from a brighter overall tone. I don't like the lack of weapon options in the skink sprue, so I've done a few little conversions, just easy stuff like removing some of the spikes on the club thing, or replacing it with a knife or mace. Makes the unit a bit more varied, you know? Sorry about the picture quality, using the old camera phone.

Finally, here's Lord Xilibotl, who has spent the better part of today in a complicated vice structure as the super glue dries on his palanquin! He is not impressed.

Anyway, that's my update for today!

Stay tuned for more TALES. OF. INTEREST!

Also thanks for all your support and positivity! I'm pretty bad at finishing projects, but having people look at and comment on my progress really helps me get it done.

Thanks, Favoured! Unfortunately it'll be hard for me to update this for a little while, since my partner and I are housesitting and she barely has usable internet! Bah! Anyway, hopefully by the time I get a decent update there'll be a lot to cover, so watch this space with keen interest and so forth.

Sup, everyone! Sorry this'll be a pretty small update since things have been a bit hectic and my camera phone has been...well, that's a long story. Anyway, I've basecoated Lord Xilibotl and managed to spray-basecoat 30 saurus, I really like the look of the green and yellow in a big unit, it's not something I've personally seen before and the colours combine well.

I promise to have pictures up in a week, max!

Meanwhile, I'm gonna go watch Jurassic Park again, heh heh heh...
