I am designing my 2400 point Lizardmen list. For various reasons, I have a seriously excessive number of Cold One cav and am wondering wether they are usable. The list (roughly): Sarus Oldblood w/toys mounted on Cold One Sarus Scar-Veteran BSB on Cold One Tetto'Eko 20x Saurus Warrior 20x Saurus Warrior 10x Skink Skirmisher - Javelin and Shield 10x Skink Skirmisher - Javelin and Shield Cold One Cavalry (MSU - 5 or so) to the points limit!! 3 x Salamanders Thoughts would be appreciated.
Seems sold. Lol, 6 cold ones is not a lot. http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l198/nbundick/Lizardmen/100_1752-P.jpg
Why even have any saurus warriors? They'll just slow you down. Go with some skink cohorts or skrox units. Put a bunch of characters into a COR unit and have tetto'eko vanguard your stuff into your opponents face. Maybe consider some ripperdactyls just to really mess with your opponent
It costs an unhealthy amount of points but if u can and have the models I have ran 22 riders in one unit in ranks of 5 with a Scarvet and Oldblood and what ever they charge gets wrecked especially if u can get wild for On them I've also had luck with two units of 11 but I like the rank bonus a lot
Awesome advice. I will go back and consult my Lizardmen book tonight. I would LOVE to do an all cavalry list, but I can see it would be a lot like the Forest Spirit list for Wood Elves (a bit one dimensional). I can see the benefit of a couple of big blocks stacked with characters Thanks, one and all for your advice so far; I look forward to having something playable in the near future. And then comes the hard bit: painting it all!
What I found extremely helpful was the Oldblood/Piranha blade build. Now I have my Daemon Prince counter!
