    Hello

Im soon starting on my box of cold one cavalry. However Im at a loss for what scheme to use for the mounts. My Lizardmen are shadow grey with Mechrite red scales, and their shields are Camo green. So with all of this, finding a color scheme for cold ones that stands out is a bit tricky.

Does anyone have any great ideas for me? If possible I would really like pictures of your cold ones to give me something to work with.

    Thanks

I have heard people talk about reversing the colors of you your army for the mounts. So instead of paintin mechrite red on the scales you could paint it on the skin. Then the scales could be shadow grey.

a little unorginal but it would work ;)

With the colours your working with, I'd say paint them a dirty grey/green colour?

I've only painted the Horned One for my unit so far, and he is black with orange scales compared with my colour scheme of purple with red scales for the rest of the army (he stands out pretty nicely ;) )

Green would look good. Or maybe even something crazy like blue. Or perhaps a darker shade of grey with green scales. The possibilities are endless.
    Mine are brown.

From the trio of colors you are already using, I want to say a blue mount would likely flow the best with the rider. I want to say start with a blue-based grey and mix it with a darker blue and use that as your first coat for the skin. Wash it with asure(something rather) blue (I've used this on all my sauri and skinks and it turns out great). You'll prlly want to leave the scales the same as the skin, but either slightly darker, or slightly lighter, depending on how you want the whole model to feel. Going to take a stab and just go ahead and tell you what could be done for the scales if you went lighter. Obv you'll want to mix either a lighter blue, or a lighter grey into your skin base mix, but not too much or the colors will be far to drastic. Again, wash them with asur blue and then dry brush the scales with the same color you painted on them before. Now, without seeing the model, everything I just said is just going from what I can imagine in my brain, so in the end I would imagine you will likely have to just do some testing to get the right colors.

    but...thats just my 2 cents :)
