I got a question for all you lizardmen cold one cavalry owners. I want to try to convert the saurus riders on the dark elf cold ones. Now, I know that the dark elf cold ones have a saddle as part of the actual cold one with the rider being seperate, but do the saurus riders have the saddle molded onto them or is the saddle molded onto the cold ones? or seperate entirely? I would like to know these things before I go spend a ton of cash on models just to find out the conversion wont work. Also has anyone seen or tried this conversion?
It does work, people have done it, try looking back through the painting and converting forum, there are a few threads there on it. It requires a bit of GS and gap filling, because saurus are a lot wider and bulkier than elves, but for the most part it works. I am 99% sure DE cold ones have the saddle as part of them. The LM ones have a bit of both. There is a basic 'flat' saddle on the CO, and extra stuff on the riders legs because he is kneeling on it.
i had this same thought lol the DE ones look so much cooler, i hate the claws on ours the look way to big, the games workshop website has a step by step of how to put together the cold ones that shows how they go together u could look at to get an idea of the model and im petty sure most of the saddle is attached to the saurus
I've only seen one instance of someone truly pulling this off, but I think it can be done with enough work.
