Every colour you like and you want. :D
I think all colour is good, I have some orange, blue, red, green, gray, white, purple (you can look at my paint blog to see it, and take a look at some other paint log too to find some inspiration)

I used some orange on my chameleon skinks and I quite like it! Give it a try!

They're lizards, anything can work really :p It's the benefit of having animalistic stuff. The only thing that'd be weird would be metalic colours.

I come from the 40K world and am a soldier IRL, so for me I used matching schemes across the board. pale underbellies, and blue scales for the mounts and monsters, and pale underbellies and red for the Seraphon themselves. but as every one else said... it really doesn't matter what you paint them as long as you like the way they are painted.

Perhaps you might think of one colour element throughout all of your army connecting it. Mine all share a red spine. But, as the others said....this. is. Lustria. So do as you like your minis.

I've not used a lot of the traditional color schemes, and join others in saying that you should paint to please your own aesthetic sense.

For me, I've decided that there are different castes of Saurus and Skinks, so my standard Skinks are orange and purple, my Skink Handlers another scheme, and my Skink heroes (and Ripperdactyl Riders) are the traditional blue. Still deciding how I'm going to paint the Skinks riding Behemoths. My Saurus heroes are purple with ghostly green scales while my Guard and Warriors are shades of green. Uniformity of look is a factor for me (it needn't be for you), but only across like types, not across my whole army.

That said, if you're going to be playing in tournaments where there are painting points on the line, or if you're going to be entering into painting competitions that feature whole armies (even if it's just Armies on Parade down at your local GW), I have a feeling that strongly themed painting schemes do better in those situations. I might have gone a little less crazy individualizing my Saurus Guard if I'd been thinking about that factor, personally. But I will never regret my orange and purple Skinks!

Hey, jumping in on the thread, would you guys mind posting a picture or two of your schemes? I'm always curious to see where people go with these, as I'm also still in the planning phase of my army scheme :) I'm leaning towards a yellow base and various colours on the scales depending on unit, though I love the caste idea.
