Hi all,

Can more than one comet of cas be present at any one time?

I don't believe it's a "Remains in play" spell any more, so I think it's possible.
(Some one correct me if i'm wrong)

This might me in one of the FAQ's (8th edition or LM FAQ o_O

it is a unique spell in its own right. it remains in play, but is not a remains in play spell and multiple instances of it can be cast. per the core text: once cast, the comet cannot be dispelled.

Thanks guys. Hoping my skink priest rolls it as well as Tetto'eko using it!

GW in Exeter (Devon, UK) says that it's removed :(

Ive not managed to roll this spell up yet with my skink priest but the way I and probably the guys I play against would say you can cast this multiple times as it does not state that it is a remains in play spell.

So unless I've missed it in a FAQ cast till your hearts content.

So.... GW Exeter say it is removed if cast a second time, GW Plymouth say it remains in play.........

Just an illustration of the fact that working in a GW store does not make one an expert on the rules of the game.

Newscales has it right and explains it correctly--multiple castings can be on the table at once.

Not to throw a spanner in the works, but unless a mage has a special rule stating he may cast the same spell multiple times ( like Lord Kroak) the BRB states spells may not be taken or cast multiple times unless it is a signature spell... Though I may have the cat by the tail here..

but a separate wizard may cast the same spell again......... or am I wrong

Sort of correct. The mage can cast a given spell once per phase. That's not the question though. Question relates to whether the mage can cast the comet again if there is still an earlier comet from an earlier phase in play that has not yet hit the ground.

My bad, moar coffee for me:) I got stuck on a poster saying he hopes his skink priest rolls it too, so was imagining a 2 comets cast the same turn.

...but I can have the spell cast twice from to different wizards, can't I?

Only if one of them is a Loremaster or there is a magic item that allows you to choose spells (I don't recall Lizardmen having any such items though). Otherwise you cannot have the same spell twice in a single army.

So....

Tetto'eko is Loremaster heavens
Skink priest uses lore of heavens

If skink priest rolls for magic and gets the CoC, they can both cast?

Tetto'eko Loremaster Heavens
Slann Loremaster Heavens
Enough Skink priests to get a 3rd comet

One turn of IF tri-comet mayhem! XD

The look on the other guys face would be priceless if it could be managed. Might be the last time you play together, but it could be fun. :D

It would be the answer to horrible cheesy dwarf gunlines, even if it is cheesier :p

Comet loves dwarfs! Unfortunately, Dwarfs don't love the comet. But, really, who cares? :bored:
