What is the craziest unit or character have you ever sent to the battlefield? Did your evil project work and somehow steal the show or did it end in a sad yet possibly funny manner? Let's hear those crazy stories of amazing triumphs and pathetic failures! :D

In one of my first games I decided to go with the most extreme Slann possible. He was a huge second Generation SLann with maxed out magic items, and a 20 strong Temple Guard unit. My opponent was playing Chaos Undivided, and massacred my army except the Temple Guard. On Turn 3 my Temple Guard were surrounded and about to be crushed so my Slann called down the Comet of Cassandora right next to him. Turn four the Chaos Warriors charged the front and my Temple Guard held with two casualties. Nothing much on the attack back, so I launched some magic missiles at the nearby Chaos Knights, to no avail. The Knights then charged my Temple Guards flank. Amazingly the unit survived another turn. The last turn Flesh hounds of Khorne moved in to flank the other side of the temple Guard. Then the Comet went off, killing everything on the board except for 5 Saurus that were halfway across the table. It was pretty spectacular, a fitting end for a Second Generation Slann.

No I don't mean embarrassing things that happen as a fluke SohCahToa . I mean things like what Lizard_of_Mictlan did. Casting the comet right beside his slann. thats awesome haha. Or crazy character combos or units that you would never normally field but tried out for fun.

I once fielding an army of saurus in a redo of the Albion campaign (came in 3rd, btw), except that my entire list was ONE saurus monster of a unit...I won against a High Elf taking an objective in the center because no amount of magic or shooting could harm it!

I often run a scar vet on cold one with enchanted shield, quetzl and light armour for a -1+ save and aura of quetzl for a 4+ ward against pretty much anything that can get through that much armour. First game I used him he did not pass his armour save once and was only just kept alive by the ward save. He was eventually killed by some HE sword masters getting two wounds and me failing everything.

Last night I fielded a 1,000 point list consisting of a skink chief on stegadon, 2 priests and about 60 skink scouts armed with blowpipes... no other units. It was against an equal points army of the new dark elves, including a war hydra. Solid victory in my favor!
It's funny because I would never think to use a skink chief for... well, anything. Much less the army general, and only combat capable unit or character on my side of the board.
The list was almost built to fail, just to see what that many skinks could do. I gave the chief blessed of the old ones, because the model I wanted to use was painted as an albino. Never used the rerolls. :jawdrop:

280 skinks in a 2000 pt game was doing really well until a unit got charged lost run down into another unit rinse and repeat, did some how win in the cause he still couldn't kill enough of the guys and plus running in circles was fun except for moving 280 skirmishers

    My old South Lands list.

    1 Saurus Scar Vet

    X 8 Kroxigor

    145 Skinks

    Anyways

Pimped out a High Elf Dragon Lord with everything possible. ( Armour of Caeldor etc)

Then faced a Herald Of Nurgle and Lord of Change. Lost but killed the Nurgle :)
