No reason you could not. Beyond spending those points on something else. I am like you in that I would like to get an enemy caster to blow up. :beaver:

    Hi
From the feedback I got from my local GWS guys, it's a great idea, basicly means if you get the "THRONE OF VINES" spell off and the dice Gods are kind you can survive quite a while and the one time you don't! use the "CUPPED HANDS" and an enemy wizzard may go poof!

    HAH! TECLIS WHO! LOL! :droid:

    The way I'd do it...

If I roll up a "really bad" miscast, I'd try to use cupped hands first, then if that fails try for the throne of vines.

If I roll one that's not so bad, I would try to ignore it with throne of vines first, saving the extra chance of cupped hands for one that is worse.

I find it depends on the amount of dispelling the other army has,
I'd rather save the cup for a turn when i don't have the throne, than use the cup and regret it late
