I've only been painting Warhammer for a little under a year now, and I never really got a proper army started. I've made my decision to commit to a lizardman army though, and I'm really excited to get started in full force! This is my very first Lizardman model, Chakax. I think he's a total BAMF and I hope my paint job reflects that.
I plan on painting all my temple guard this same dark blue colour, but only the commanders will get the tattoos. I'll probably make my Saurus the standard 'Eavy Metal blue, but I'm open to suggestions for other colours that would pair well next to this dark blue. Saurus commanders will get tattoos as well, but orange instead of red I think. I want the tattoos to have some sort of signifigance as far as battle heirarchy goes. The same will happen with my skinks' crests as well, but I haven't even got a box of skinks yet so I think I need to just slow my roll and my rambling a bit now haha.
Anyways, Here he is. Comments and critiques welcome and appreciated!

Very nice, I like it. Great work on the freehand, really adds something to the model. I like the way you have painted the stone, it looks nice on the bottom of the weapon on the top right pic, care to share how did it?

The method for the stone mace was actually based on the Chakax Character Focus article on the Games Workshop website: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?categoryId=400021&pIndex=2&aId=11300002&multiPageMode=true&start=3
I accidentally used skull white in the basecolour mix instead of bleached bone, but I managed to salvage it with a bit of drybrushing.

Great looking model! Well done! I've always liked the black and gold metalic color combo. Any mid to light blue can touch it off nicely which is what you've done. Kudos! Looking forward to seeing more!

This is an excellently painted model. The stonework on the mace looks particularly realistic(an effect I'm still trying to replicate). And like RiSi says, the freehand warpaint(especially on the left arm) is particularly well done. All in all, I'd give this a 5 star rating, easily.

I like this. We need to see more tattoos and warpaint on lizardmen, it just fits so well. I also like the idea of having characters stand out by being darker-coloured to the rank-and-file. It makes them appear more imposing.
It's a very nice, clean paintjob, well done!
