Hey all, Anyone here by chance a Dark Elf player? I'd like to make a conversion using either the Dreadlord cold one or sorceress cold one, but the sprue is not shown at the GW site. Does anyone know if the legs of the Elf are attached to the mount, or seperate (like the regular dark elf or lizardmen cold ones). I cannot find it on the internet either. http://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Dark-Elf-Dreadlord-on-Cold-One http://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Dark-Elf-Supreme-Sorceress-On-Cold-One thanks in advance!
I actually have both of those in my closet waiting to be converted to have old bloods riding them. The feet and lower part of the body is unfortunately attached to the mount. The models are fine cast and consists of two half's that you glue together and then put the upper torso of the elf on top. My plan for these is to use a very thin thread saw blade (1mm thick) and carefully saw away the character parts from the raptor. And then use green stuff to fix it up afterwards. Also please note, to get a good result the neck of the raptor most probably also need to be extended a little, so more green stuff work here. I would say this is an advanced conversion project, so unless you have experience with this, it might be better going for a easier conversion.
a MUCH better option is to simply use the plastic Dark Elf cold ones, either from their chariot or their Cold One Knight box. Here's my conversion of a BSB on a plastic Dark Elf Cold One:
Very nice conversion indeed. Actually I already have 10 of those, but I wanted a special one for my scarvet. Thus my eye fell on the resin HQ mounts. I am all for trying new things, I have done several conversions in the past. I think I'll be fine, gives me a chance too use my Dremel again. @Red Devil, could you do me a favor and upload/mail me a picture?
