ok, so im playing a doubles tourney at my local gw and my partner will most likely be a dark elf player. i dunno wat he is bringing cuz he has all the dark elf models so i built a list thats relatively balanced.

    Heroes

    Scar-Vet
    LA
    Shield
    Scimitar of the Sun Resplendent

    Skink Priest
    EotG
    Plaque of Tepok
    Dispel Scroll

    Core

    14 Saurus
    FC
    Spears

    10 Saurus
    FC
    Spears

12 Skink Skirmishers (only have 12 skinks otherwise there would be more)

any advice would be very useful

The EotG seems a lot of points in a 1K game. I'd drop it and just go with a lvl 1 scroll caddy (your DE player is likely to take magic). I'd also drop a champ in one of your units too. Having a champ in your general's unit is definately good but I wouldn't recommend the other, it's a points sink.

I'm not sure what other models you have in your army but if you drop the EotG I go for a unit of Terradons and a Salamander w/ extra crew. Any other points I'd use to increase your unit size for your saurus or even create another ten man unit.

you have 24 saurus, splitting them up in 2 units of 12 might be better than what you are currently running.
also, you might have some trouble if you face cavlary, i suggest eqipping he scar vet with an enchanted shield and the BBoC to take our anything thats armored on the table.
do discuss with your ally what magic he is bringing. if the enemy players bring magic defence and your ally doesn't bring any offense you're rather scrwed with 5 PD. either go for full offense or full defense.

also, yeah... eotg is kinda much for a 1k point list but could be fun since he isn't that easy to take out. as long as you dont face too many cannons you should be fine
