Hi ladies! Lately i've been getting somewhat bored of running the same Lifestar/Saurus lists over and over again. Not that it hasen't prooved very effective - i've never topped turnies like i do with that list. But it just seems dull, not to mention every lizardmen player worth their salt in Denmark is running somewhat identical lists. .. Enough rambling.. I figured what i'm most bored of is how "Locked" life lists end up being, seeing you want those saurus blocks in CC by turn 2, or 3 at the latest (and preferably stay there) you don't have much flexibility. Or movement even. To be frank i don't think life lists takes any skills whatsoever, fights look pretty much alike. we all know how it goes. - So i wanted to try a more manuvable/Ranged list. Here is a 2k layout: Slann + dice + lore + Ethereal + cupped hands + Carpet + BsB (Death) (Flying 'round to make use of the short range of death, and to be able to use the Leadership/BsB where it's needed) Saurus x 25 + banner (Steadfast against most things is certainly nice for any list) Shrox x 24 + banner (Fast and shooty in keeping with the "theme" + some needed high Str CC) Skirmishers x 10 + javs (Used to do flee-reactions or just hurl some javs against slow armies) Skirmishers x 10 + javs Stegadon (Could make for a heavy counter charge against a weekened unit to break right through) Chameleon skinks x 6 (Warmachines hunters, even though the death spells are super nice for this aswell) Chameleon skinks x 6 Salamander x 2 + 2 handlers (Takes out most inf. with ease, + death makes that panic test much more fun) Salamander x 2 + 2 handlers This list has 66 points to spare, though i'd like to try and fit either 3 terradons or a priest with the forbidden rod (Suicide job, i know) Any suggestions of how to be able to do this, or just comments/Critics in general are greatly aprieciated!
He's not mounted and is classed as inf. Carpet can be used by an inf./Monstrous inf. on foot. - If my english doesn't fail me badly i think he can. Though if i'm wrong, please point me to a FaQ / Erreta that stated this, because i can't find one Cheers
@lizardninja: I thought so too (on another post), I could not find anything about it in the FAQ. If you find something, please post it. Is an etheral slann immune to cannon balls/stone throwers/ballista type weapons?
They are in most casses. Only dwarfs cannons/Bolt throwers are able to fire magical shots (With the appropriate runes ofc.)
Cool! I will try that build out on my next Slann (probably at 2-2.5k). Death is a powerful lore. My 3k army (2 slann) was decimated by Teclis using Death.
Purple sun yes. But you have to remember what death does best, Character snipz! A slann is far harder to snipe than a mage at 2-3 wounds with a week or no wardsave. A death slann should do pretty well imo, since you can with less risk than most other mages get within that short range death reqs. - Besides, with sallie-power you don't have to emphasize on infantry slaughter, better just go get those enemy mages down imo. Anywayz, these are just my humble thoughts on the matter - I'd love if someone would tell me off and give some points where this list might fail. Surely i can't have thought of everything!
A dwarf cannon/bolt thrower shoots magic attacks with any rune. Even if the rune has nothing to do with shooting (Like the self destruct rune). I learned that the hard way, but outside of dwarves and the tomb kings, I can't think of any artillery that shoots magic.
Yup, skaven, plus daemon flamers are magical too. They are practically a war machine, like an organ gun!
