Scarnosaur is a magnet for shooting/magic (for better or worse) or Scar-vet on foot makes the Saurus Warrior unit formidable instead of a pushover for opposing elite units. I know cowboys are useful options too...maybe you could convince me to use one of those instead??

Re: Debating 2 armylists for upcoming 2400pt LARGE Tournamen Trim slann cost to 360 or below no bsb. (WD or HM loremaster + dispel scroll) Enter Oldblood fully kitted. Enter Scarvet/Skink chief BSB. You'll do the same magic, also you gain badass Oldblood. If you lose Slann due to miscast you wont lose both BSB and General. Your oldblood can be set to hold with Crown of command in Saurus warriors, or flying carpet to hunt down whatever. It should fulfill the role your army cant do on his own. Magic is awesome...sometimes. Trust in your Oldblood.

If they are HW/S (my preference) drop the EOTG and save 50 points 10 Skinks w/ 1 Krox, Banner, Mus I'd drop this and make the saurus 29 strong 3x 10 Skink Skirmishers 18 Temple Guard w/ Full Command, Banner of Eternal Flame Little small, maybe 24? 4 Krox Each to there own but I think these 4 guys are much better spend on two cold one cowboys, Stegadon Give one or both of these stegs sharpened horns 2 x Salamander Hunting Pack Ancient Stegadon w/ Engine of the Gods See saurus comment I'm pretty certain my suggestions aren't point neutral so you'd have to pick and choose. A few quick responses: 1) Both my Stegadons already have Sharpened Horns (I forgot to include in the original post). 2) 1 Krox is in the skink unit because I needed to fill out my core and he increases the unit's Ld to 7. 3) I need to bring the skink unit because of the Blood & Glory scenario and other objectives that require units with banners to claim. Banners needed. 4) I'm not planning on bringing an Oldblood this year, but plan to bring 2 next year. This year: magic, next year: pain. 5) Saurus Warriors have HW/S, but are not planned on being next to the EotG, so the ward save is for my other units. 6) I'm bringing the EotG mostly because I love how I painted it. Non-negotiable. Normally I bring units of 6 Kroxigors, so maybe I should just take out the normal Stegadon and buff up my other units with the points saved? (2 to 3 more Krox, more TG, Cowboy, etc.)

Assume you will lose 1 steg to cannon fire in the first round, second if your lucky. So get them into combat with stompable troops fast even if you let them charge you.
