Ok guys, I'm genuinely looking for Lustrian residents, that are already cannon, and some good suggestions that you can think of! Anything that catches my interest can and probably will be included in my story in the fluff room! Cannon: Carnosaur Stegadon Troglodon Bastilodon Arcanodon Cold one Salamander Razordon Ripperdactyl Terranodon Thunder lizard Coatl Fireleech Blot toad The amazons Skaven Empire and chaos Savage orks! My additions: Dilophodon, the light loving creature that the troglodon evolved from, fast and intelligent but not too strong Titanodile, a colossal crocodile large enough to prey on stegadons Eflips, a rare and secretive creature, it only comes out to forage at dawn and dusk, they stand at about four foot high, humanoid and hairy, they are said to be highly intelligent, but no one has caught one to prove their existence. Palm leaf viper, with a large green widened head, a brown craggy body, this venomous viper twists into palm trees and blends in, careful where you choose to rest. Body drinker, his creature is the stuff of nightmares, no e have seen it and lived, but plenty have found the bodies, only a skeleton and the skin remain.... The Lustrian shrieking tree frog is an oddity the size of a mans hand, its compressed laterally to resemble a leaf, but when you get too close this tiny frog can imitate the sound of almost any jungle predator to warn you away.
I don't have it to hand but I'm fairly sure there's a reference to "canabalistic monkey-kin" in the army book.
Being a jungle, it will be FULL of insects. Being a Warhammer jungle none of them are going to be pleasant. Pretty sure There's a giant wasp called a Blood Wasp. It's one of the things Razerdons eat.
Also look for carnivorous plants, corpse flower, trumpet plants, lustrian man traps etc A wide variety of deadly microfauna is also available, from poison frogs used by the skinks to small snakes, lizards and raptors from jungle sarms
Ants man, they are incredible! How about a colony of ants that are able to tunnel through rock, that resides in the walls an old cave or temple, and lives of anyone who are unfortunate enough to seek shelter there.. :O
also some small colonies on the coast... Vampires (vampire coast) Norsemen (Viking colony) Ferial Saurus (dragon isles) some other native fauna: Paranas snakes, lots of snakes Flesh Eating Viruses Ixil Grubs
I'm blanking on their name, but the old army book mentioned large flightless birds that skinks rode around one of the temple-cities.
There's a page in the handbook that comes with examples on creatures. It's things like snakes that burrow into you skin and such, interesting creatures.
If i remember correctly there are quetzas? Prolly spelled that wrong but are like an Aztec god that was a snake with bird like wings. I wanna say it was referenced in the army book a couple editions back
I found the reference I was thinking of. In the previous army book it mentions Oyxl, the Eternal City on the Culchan Plains. In the words of the book, "Many of the Skink fighters who guard them (the priests) have mastered the carnivorous, flightless birds that roam the plains, patrolling far from the city upon their unusual mounts." Not much info, but its official.
here is some stuff i think u missed: pg 21 - razorbeaks, great hunting cats, cannibalistic monkey-kin pg 22- pliodons (water dinos), voxosaurs pg 43 - colossadons Forgeworld - Dread Saurian Regards, Sanjay
I mentioned some critters in my fluff pieces. Tallosaurus, a long necked herbivore that breeds fairly quickly and grows big. I figured there has to be something that’s not carnivorous to feed all the predators. I mentioned bears in passing. I figured they look like South American spectacled bears. Deralethi spiders are poisonous spiders that have a unique poison that will neutralize itself and most other poisons in comes into contact with. Rylok are birds that eat fruit, insects, and carrion. They band together in flocks for protection from predators. They are used in metaphors for Lizardmen because their elderly members will go on a suicidal final journey. Kroloqs are small burrowing lizards which each carrion. The Quatlixa are Lizardmen ghouls raised from tainted spawning pools under the command of the exiled vampire Count Renliss. Lurkerdons are a waterloving creature a bit bigger than a Kroxigor I added to my unofficial Southlands list for some Monstrous cavalry. My next story I’m thinking of adding some domesticated or tamed reptiles used in Temple Cities but not used in war. Equivalents to blood hounds, carrier pigeons, dairy cows, etc.
Domesticated! Now there's a good point! What about a turtle ferry system for non swimming saurus? I would imagine that animals such as Capybara would be ideal live stock as fast breeders and semi aquatic they could be raised anywhere and feed all strata of lizardmen society! I think that this could keep going and going, there is so much to see and imagine!
