Disable email notification for alerts?

Does that option not exist, or am I blind? I would like to keep alerts active, but not receive the email notification.

- Preferences
- Automatically watch threads that you create or when you reply... [box checked]
- and receive email notifications of replies [box unchecked]

The above does not do the trick.

Any ideas?

That sounds strange, it's the same settings I use and I don't receive any emails.

The emails you receive, they are from the alert part of the system, and not for a different part? (Personal message?)
