8th Ed. Does Razordon need to roll to hit?

I've seen a couple references to pumping up the Razordon's BS, but according to the book, Shoot Barbs is fired using the same rules as a cannon firing grapeshot, so aren't these hits automatic?

Unfortunately, firing grapeshot requires you to roll to hit.
