Probably, but it seems GW is trying to eliminate them from all the books and maybe altogether, so you can probably use them, but not in anything official.
Well, there used to be a page on the GW website where they had the rules for DoW and who could use what, but I can't seem to find it so they probably removed it. If you can get your hands on the rules, you can use them, I think LM had a few choices they could take. The most common DoW is the giant now though. I would keep DoW to friendly games, I don't think tournies allow them. There also used to be a section on the DoW online store page from Gav Thorpe I believe explaining that DoW aren't listed in the new books because they wanted to leave their options open for adding a full DoW book later down the line. I think that highly unlikely now, I couldn't even find any model on the site. So yes it does seem like they have been thrown to the back and forgotten.
I moved this to Lesser Races, because I think it's appropriate. From what I've heard, GW is trying to get rid of Dogs of War. Notice how they're not even on the official GW site, and hardly mentioned in the rulebook. While some people may think this is not a wise move, I don't really care, seeing as how I've never been really interested in DOW.
i am pretty sure that bret's can't use dogs of war in their rulebook i don't have it on me so i can't say for sure but i am almost positive
*proudly looking up Dogs of War in my new Lizardmen armybook* Quote: Dogs Of War. Dogs Of war are troops of other races prepared to fight in return of money, food, or some other reward. The most common type of Dogs of War units are the Regiments of Renown. Although the two terms are used to describe mercenary units, both work in the same way in the army list. A selection of such regiments is available as part of Dogs of War range of models. The descriptions and rules for these units can be found in the White Dwarf magazine and are compiled in the Warhamer Annual and Warhammer Chronicles books. The rules for individual Regiments of Renown detail exactly which armies may take them and which army list choices they use up. Most Dogs of War units take up a Rare choice, but some count as Special choices or may take up more than one choice. This is detailed in the individual rules of the unit itself. Page 57, right side
Suppe hate to tell you but that was the last edition book. The new one has a Blue Cover with a Saurus Warrior on it
Yes, it looks like you picked up the wrong one by mistake. Or maybe your concept of 'new' is a little shaky.
If your book allows for DoW in it, then you can use them in tournies. otherwise keep them in friendly games. this is the rule that the owner of the resident GW store in my area works with. but this might be the exception, rather than the rule. i know that my friend with empire uses the pikemen, and only because it rules say he can.
