So yesterday this came up in the form of a battle with orruks. As expected they wiped out most of my battleline and carried on with mighty destroyers. So the question came up when my opponent said he could target the carnosaur with a doppelgänger cloak. So the question is can a unit of orruks attack a hero with doppelgänger cloak that has not attacked earlier in the turn?
He still selects his unit to attack, but he will have no valid target. So he will have to select his units and his attack, but then they all get canceled. Smash'in & Bash'in hurts him more than it helps him against Doppelganger's Cloak
Welp I ended up losing the match because of doppelgänger cloak being denied... This weekend will be more enjoyable
Does smashin and bashin take place at the start of the combat phase? Is there a scenario where the attack can happen before you activate the cloak?
It takes place during the combat phase. It lets another unit that hasn't fought yet fight if an IronJawz unit killed something. Can't remember if it's a whole unit or just a few models. So the Cloak prevents them from targeting the Carnosaur, even if they get multiple activations in a row. He cannot be attacked until he does so.
smashing and bashing does not but mighty destroyers happens in the hero phase and does bypass doppelgangers cloak
