Been thinking things over, and if I drop out my Scar-Vets and a Salamander, I can field pretty close to the same list at 3k but with double Engine.

    Lords:

Shadow Slann w/Cupped Hands, Mystery, Rumination, Blood Statuette

Light Slann w/Plaque of Tepok, Rumination, BSB and General

    Heroes:

    (2) Priest w/EOTG

    Core:

    (2) Standard Bearer, Musician, 18 x Saurus w/hand weapon+shield

    (4) 10 x Skinks w/blowpipes

    Special:

Standard Bearer, Musician, 18 x Temple Guard

    Musician, 19 x Temple Guard

    Rare:

    (2) Salamander

5 points in change, nothing really worth buying (can't take Charmed Shield on an Engine as he can't take magic armour).

Pretty much same idea as before. Skinks are deployed outmost, then Saurus, then TG blocks. Engines and Salamanders bring up the rear and flanks.

Has anyone else gone for this build before (in 7th edition even?).

Having read a lot of your recent posts, I think I'm far too noob to offer any tactical advice. However, I would use the remaining 5 points to get an extra handler for one of the sallies. Why waste it?

You may be spreading your power dice pretty thin, especially if you go double engine. Be sure to post how it works out for you, I'm curious.

Sorry to flame here, but that list might not even be good...if you got double powedices with 2 slanns.

EoTG is really expensive as well. 3 mages and nothing to fight with.
