Greetings Lustria! I am entering a double turnament with a Dark Elves ally and maybe you guys can help me with list. My original plan is as follows: Oldblood + cold one, great weap, armor of dest, other tricksters. Scar vet + cold one, great weap, light armor, standard, dragon helm, rgg of quango. 20 saurus, full command. 10 skink skirmish. 8 cham skinks. 1 salamander 1 salamander. I am not sure if i want to play this or change salamanders And cham skinks for a ancient steg and a banner of swiftnes. There is also one idea to switch the scar vet for tetto to get comet and vanguard. But i do not think i feel like buying him for one smal turnament. The DE player will have two bolt throwers, some executioners, repeater handbows as magebunker with a lvl 3 mage. Also dark riders and warlocks. If i remember correctly. What do you guys think?
Are you able to run a army with 2 bastiladons? In small tournaments they are very destructive! What if your oldblood and scar vet got sniped by a cannonball? Are named characters allowed? Then i should use tetto'eko in a bunker of 20 skinks!
I only have one bastilidon. They are nice but we have a shared pool of dices so i do not know if we have enough dice to fuel it. If they get sniped, that would sucks. I do not get look out if they are on cold one right? Yes they are allowed, but no outher turnaments here allow them so if i buy him it will be basicly for this turnamemt.
Ah i understand, you can make a conversion.. make a palaquin with a priest from the stegadon kit! Make the priest magnetised on a base and the palaquin so you can switch between a skink priest and tetto'eko! And no LoS test allowed! Nevertheless you can run a list with oldblood but i should bring a unit of templeguard with an oldblood in it! Sword of might, Armour of Destiny, Dawnstone, Shield (1+ rerollable, 4++) The Scar-veteran could be taken, but with only 1000 points a scarvet and a oldblood is too much! If you take it, use great weapon, Light armour, Dragonhelm, CO so it is as cheap as possible with a 1+ save! Further bring 3x12 skirmishers w/ javelins and shield, 19 templeguard with full command and a salamander w/ extra snack! makes a total of 998 points! Templeguard are very hard to kill by normal units and have strength 5 at charge at initiative! 3+ save!
Wow thanks! Awesome idea with the conversion! As i have both a palaquin and that priest! I only have 24 skinks with javelins, and then i would have to paint them and all my temple guards until next Saturday. I will give it a consideration tho. Do not the temple guards always have +1 str? not only on charge? And only 3+ armor to shooting and a 4+ for close combat. I think i will do as you say and change the other tricksters for a dwnstone. Is sword of might really needed? Odds are i will strike last anyhow against a lord/hero and that he will survive so he can hit them hard with a great weap against other things.
Yes your right about the halberd! Always +1S! If the painting is problematic i should use about 30 saurus warriors if you can bring them and place the oldblood in that unit! +1S at I3 isn't really needed, but it makes you more certain about winning challenges! Glittering scales and sword of striking is also a lethal combination for challenges, WS6 with -1 to hit and you have +1 to hit so often it is 2+ or 3+ to hit!! but it makes you lose your wardsave! Many good options, choose the option you like, these are just options! Most important is you play a list you like!
