At least it looks better than the previously leaked picture (WIP pics). the head looks a bit better, Still I wish they had made it look like the early artwork of the monster.
hate the tail a lot... it looks better with the armor but could have still used more...also might look cool with some skinks hanging on like the bastilodon... Id love to see the cords on the tail the way the carnosaur has...
Hmmm.. I like this guy, and i'l buy him. (but can not imagine, how i will transport him to WH club from home and back...)
It's good enough, but not the kind of awesome I had hoped for when we learned that they were adding armour after all. There should have been a lot more of it. I may get one eventually but I'm not in a rush. I think I'll get the O&G monsters first, I like those better.
I agree on the tail. Its too skinny. It makes the beast look like a starved hairless rat. Just my opinion though
Have they released the rules for this monster yet? and if so where? If not, then have they released experimental rules for this yet?
I have the feeling that I really REALLY want to like it but just cant because of that tail.. How in the F'ing H' can this be a reasonable choice? "you are using too much resin Trish" "....but the tail needs to be bigger" "...huh...better make his body smaller then to make up for the resin used huh Trish?" "..but boss ive spend months on that body, I cant change it now!" ".....you better settle for the small tail then... dont you Trish?" ".......yes boss" "...good girl...now make me some money" also The size of the spine-spikes seems rather random..but thats in no way a dealbreaker... I wonder what amount of greenstuff and armour pieces I will need to transform that tail into something worthy.
It might look better with a double tail like the carnosaur variant...thicken it up a bit, plus double tail is always good for lizardmen... Plus the reason we keep seeing rat is the bare smooth tail...if the spike went all the way down it and it has some sacle details on it its a different story... it is also missing the scales that go with the lizardmen models...none of them are that smooth... it also needs MORE Armor, and some skinks hanging off of it couldnt hurt... in shot it is underwelming and the suck is strong with this model... will be saving money for new dark eldar forgeworld models or flesh tearer stuff after the heresy is done...
I think this guy had the right idea... http://innsmouthgamingclub.wordpres...d-saurian-is-drawn-the-coming-storm-of-magic/ Ps. there are more pic in Forgeworlds page. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/News/dread_saurian.html
Looking at the Empire guy on a 20mm base, I would guess...? 100MM X 300MM ??? or 100MM x 400MM ???? Hmm.... what's the base size of that giant goblin spider ? (probaly that big)
That is actually a piece of toy he re-painted and glued stuff on....and yet it looks more like the thing in Monsterous Arcanum....not a fan of the weapon though, its a predator from the jungle, not an actual spawn from the Temples.
Mmmm, I'm going to have to agree with everyone here. The concept art looks more like a crocodile version of a saurus, which makes sense for the name, while the actual model ends up looking more mammilian and therefore like a dragon. The tail doesn't balance the body, and it has a serious overbite. Does anyone have the Lore behind the monster?
I really like the head, very vicious looking. I can see the rat comparison. The stomach should come down more so it doesnt have such a distinctive arch. The tail looks strange from the perspective on the picture and might be just a tad too skinny. Either way, the quality is obviously superb. Even if the aesthetic isn't to your liking, the detail is out of this world and its truly a fabulous model. I will say that i think the image posted above and the illustration in the storm of magic book are hideous. A giant lizardman would be ridiculous. The illustration is very rat like in appearance as well. I was never really a fan. I would have preferred something more crocadillian, but /shrug. It's not as if the model was made to my personal tastes
