Hi folks I played this army list last week against a Dark Elf army. I was hesitant to take dual slann in 2500 and even more hesitant to give both slanns the death lore, but I did as I have not seen this build used before. The Slann on his own had 0 Spirit, 4 Doom, 5 Fate and 6 Purple and the slann with TG had 0 Spirit, 1 Aspect, 2 Caress and 3 Soulblight. If you interested in a a battle report let me know and i will post one. In summary I rolled two very low winds of magic a 3 and 4, but I was still able to get off some damaging spells. The DE lvl 4 fly behind the enemy lines and let off several purple suns which killed the lone slann, but not before he could get a few spells off. In the end I killed he lvl 4 via Chameleon Skinks and spirit leach leach. Spirit leach was also used to kill ampther character. Having two death slann was good for this purpose and it allowed me to have some redundancy when the lone slann was killed. An interesting thought. Taking the same law. I've played what I call my life and death list. Two Slaan one with life in the TG the other death made ethereal and pl protect. In a 2500 game and it worked well. I incorporated 3 salamanders and a steggie great bow with skin chief with the staff ofthe sun, but didn't have so many scar vets or cold ones. I had my SW set up as 6 x 6 in two groups the TG Holdingthe centre. It worked OK. Dwellers worked better than purple sun but I was facing skaven. I've also played life and light which worked brilliantly for obvious reasons. Light to buff the close combat. Life to reanimate and of course Dwellers. With vines you can pretty much throw six dice at this without worrying about a miscast.
Two out of three times that I have taken a life and death slann, the death slann misfires when I cast the purple sun. I then decided to never use that spell. THe other death spells are really excellent for sniping characters. In my Ogre army, I like to take the greedy fist (talisman) that allows a Death slaughtermaster to snipe a spell caster and when the hits are applied, steal levels and spells! It is really nasty!
