8th Ed. Dual Old-bloods - 2500pts

    Hey all,

    So, I set myself the task of building a lizardman list with.... wait for it.... NO SLANN!!!!! Heres what I've come up with so far, please tell me what you think.

    LORDS - 495pts

    Old Blood - Sword of Bloodshed, Armour of Fortune, Potion of Speed
    Old Blood - Sword of Strife, Maiming Shield, Talisman of Endurance, Light armour
    2+ saves, 5+ wards, and 8 strength 5 attacks each! They'll probably each sit in a Saurus block.

    HEROES - 363pts

    Skink Priest - Lvl.2
    Skink Priest - Lvl.2
    Cheap and expendable, they'r there to use my power dice, comet would be nice, but the signature hex and Harmonic convergence are the main goals here.

    Saurus Scar Vet - BSB, Shield, Armour of Destiny
    All about survivability, 2+ save, 4+ ward. He'll sit in my TG unit.

    CORE - 636pts

    24x Saurus - Spears, full command
    24x Saurus - Spears, full command
    Sturdy mainline blocks

    SPECIAL - 701pts

    24x Temple Guard - full command, Banner of Eternal Flame, Curse Charm of Tepok
    My trumpcard. A nice big elite block for stomping enemy units.

    7x Chameleons
    7x Chameleons
    7x Chameleons
    Gotta try these fellas out!

    RARE - ***pts

    2x Salamanders
    2x Salamanders
    For all their template flavoured goodness!

    So what do you think? will it work? what should I change?

    The list looks cool, and propperly great fun to play. However, I'm affraid it might get shafted by magic heavylists, and killer shooting. A Engine could help on this with a lvl 2(3) priest with Diadem of power. Along with that i would find the points for a dispell Scroll for the second priest.

    I think it stands a decent chance of wining,
    with armys like this you just charge the blocks into cambst as fact as you can
    to avoid all of the magic and shooting, you should have enough troops to
    demolish what ever you run into. with your salamanders and chamelions
    cleaning up in the back field.

    I have been thinking of runing a similar list myself sometime in the future. :smug:

    Ps. If you have any points left over, put some antimagic equipment on the skink priest.

    Good thoughts guys,

    If I drop a saurus from each unit and a TG I'll have 45pts to play with for skink items...

    Also, what sort of unit sizing works best for chameleons? I could make them 2 units of 10 and clear up a few more points... maybe a 10 and 2 5's?
