Played a 4 game 1800 warhammer tourney out of town this weekend with unfortunate results. For the most part I got smashed and ended up taking last place.
    My list was
Slann - Rumination. Dispel Scroll (Lore of Light)
Scar Vet - Burning Blade, Gamblers Armour
    24 Saurus (St, Mu, Scarvet)
    28 Skinks/3 Krox (St,Mu)
    28 Skinks/3 Krox (St,Mu)
    10 Skinks w/ Blowpipes
    12 Skinks w/ Javelins (Slann)
    3 Terradons
    2 Salamanders

    Game 1 - Chaos Dwarves
Two blocks of infernal guard, 2 Flame cannons, Stone thrower missle thing, lvl 2 metal, level 2 fire

By the end of turn two I'd like 50+ troops to warmachines, flame cage had kept my only healthly block back.
    Massacare loss

    Game 2 - Dark Elves
5 units of 5 dark riders, 2 units shades, 2 units harpies, 2 hydras, unkillable dread prince of peg, bsb on peg dawnstone, Lvl 2 in crossbowmen

Dawn attack separated my army up so I couldn't do bubble buffs and just got picked apart by the army.
    Massacare Loss

    Game 3 Ogres
2 units 4 ogres, 126 Gnoblar Trappers, Stonehorn, Slaughtermaster, Firebelly, BSB Ogre

This game acutally went okay, the saurus stared down the gnoblar to whole game (4 rounds of sslamander and skinks attacks barely dented that unit) Skrox beat down the two ogre blocks and skinks/magic/terradons killed the stonehorn. Senario however awarded significant VP's to who could keep their general closer to the center.
    Minor Loss

    Game 4 Vampire Counts
Grave guard, ghouls, mortis engine, skeletons, ethereal swarm

Got the match up I wanted, Skinks vs grave guard, saurus vs ghouls with some buff won the combats and took a massacare win to end the tourney.

I thought I had a pretty optimized list but since the tourney (I found out after) is styled after har'boyz no comp bring dirty lists I probably should of played nastier,

The tourney winner was a LIzardmen player who brought 40 saurus, 30 TG, EotG, Slann. The 3 unit massive point denial armies seemed to do best.

Do you find your skrox units to be good enough? I generally don't find mine being good enough for the pts cost.

That lizard player may have won the tournament but damn he must have had some borring matches.. Seriously no skinks, sallies or anything?

The few times I got speed of light and pha's off they did fantastic of course againist anything but otherwise they only did well vs thunderstomping monsters or the ogre block or a small mournfang block.

I think taking one block in most armies would be worth it because they are great againist high strength low attacks or 1+ armour items. But I agree for 330 point they aren't that damaging. Id rather 150 slaves (5 times the wounds, and better stats)
