is that wise? I kidnof want to take it becuase it would devastate undead but would is taht to much to spend on somehting in 1500 points? that's about all my opponent can muster right now.
Look on the flip side. If he can only field 1500 points then you probably know exactly what units he is going to field. This means you know if there is something there for your EotG to worry about.
An engine will cost ya 440 pts. Thats allot at 1,5K. Yes it will boost your magic, provide a 5+ ward save and drop a terror causer on the board, but at 1.5k your magic is a skink priest knowing lore of heavens....a.k.a. not brilliant! The 5+ ward is really good! but is it 440 pts good? imho you'd better go with the chief on a ancient stegadon and a spear.... (or maybe even better...with the drums...) I know, i know that means only 1d6+1 impact hits vs 2d6+1, but everybody and his grandmother will expect the spear and wil marchblock that dude from the getgo.... Knowing you can march anytime and position your steg as you chose is really potent and unpredictable for your opponent.
Both the chief on steggi and EoTG are good options, and I'm sure I would at least consider putting one of thouse on my side of the table. I think I would go for an EoTG as to his Burning Allignment, which really blow things up If you fill out with a scar-vet with the cold one armor leading on unit of saurus with spears and a unit of cold ones, you have a nice fear causing plugg to run down your enemies. will out the core choises with some skirmising skinks, and you'r ready to go! Really hasn't given 1500 armies much thought, but think something like that might work well vs lots of armies
I just played an allied 1500 points game with two 1500 point armies on both sides and the EOTG worked wonders, I think though if I was by myself it would have been a lot of wasted points.
