Hey my friend is telling me that my EotG I bought is an ancient stegadon and says that WHFB had a different model that’s more compact. I see no difference in regards to details on it. Is there actually a difference? And if so how big is it?

Note that the new kit, the one in the right can be mounted as:
    Stegadon with bow
    Stegadon with sunfire thrower
Stegadon (ancient) with Engine of the Gods

Thats just the difference between the old kit and the new kit. The new kit (in WHFB) could be made into a Stegadon, Ancient Steg, or EOTG. Ancient stegs arent' even a thing anymore.

It's all just one kit. The little guy on the left in the image above is just a really really old stegadon model.

Precisely. The actual model is the one on the right, which can be mounted as stegadon or Engine of the Gods.
Its use in WHFB or AoS is more a matter of bases (rectangular vs oval)
