Hey guys, I am a long time lurker but first time poster! Firstly I've got to say that this is a great site, so much really helpful information! I am in search of advice though, I am a regular 40k player who has dabbled in fantasy every now and again, previously with High Elves but I tried a small Lizard list before I got a bit fed up with the lack of local players. I am now entering into an escalation league being run in my local gaming club which looks to be interesting and I am thinking that I am going to use my Lizards for this. The rough idea is that it starts at 500pts using the Mighty Empires Tile system and after a certain time period it steps up points levels. Also in addition to the points allowed for your army at each level you are allowed points to spend on something to represent yourself. At first this is 160 and there is no limit on magic items (i.e spending 60 points on the priest but with 100 points of items) this also increases as the levels change. Your character is limited to one class so if I took a Skink Priest to start with I couldn't change it to an Oldblood but when points allow I can make it into a Slann. Named special characters aren't allowed as your general. I'm certainly not expecting to win this as there are a few very good fantasy players in the league and some armies that I have never done well against. My list of opponents are: Wood Elves Dwarfs (x2) Chaos Dwarfs Vampire Counts (x2) High Elves Warriors of chaos. As said I really don't expect to do all that well but is there any way of building a Southlands themed army that could be relatively competitive? At the moment I have: 16 Saurus Warriors 10 Skinks- Javelins 10 Skinks- Blowpipes 10 Chameleon Skinks (Normal skinks painted green!) 2x Saurus Characters 2x Skink Priests I was planning on adding a load of Skinks and some Krox and Sallies then once it builds up adding a Bastiladon and other big scary things! Is there any avenues I should look at to try and make a list that's at least slightly competitive? Thanks in advance
