Hi guys and gals! New to the site and new to Lizardmen. I am entering a escalation league at my local store with lizzies starting at 500p going up to 2500 in steps of 250p at a time except a 500p leap from 1500-2k so we can field one bigger thing. Anyway, looking through the book I have come up with a few 500p lists but I just can´t make up my mind on what to take. The goal is to stay away from anything made of metal (yes, shame on those sallies, kroxies and the slann) but hopefully some of the missing models will come out before the league is over. For now, I´m aiming at a carnosaur as my general These are the lists I´m currently trying to make up my mind of: For my first list I wanted a Skink Priest and since I have to buy a Stegadon to get one in plastic, why not use them both. 500p Hero Skink Priest, Plaque of Tepok, Blood Statuette of Spite 105p Core 10 Skinks Skirmishers, Javelins 80p 10 Skinks Skirmishers, Javelins 80p Special 1 Stegadon 235p My skirmishers runs around with the priest annoying my opponent, I went with javelins to be sure I could move around as much as possible while trying to stay out of harms way. My Stegadon then charges in at a (hopefully) weakened opponent. The Blood Statuette feels really devestating at 500p if it goes off. This list actually evolves to an all skink list at 2500 with 4 stegadons (3 normal and 1 ancient with a skink chief with a stegadon war spear) it has no Saurus in it or no slann so ld 7 and no bsb is a bit of a problem. I actually have both kroxigors and sallies in this list but I just couldn´t make an all skink list without them My second list is based around a battalion box. 500p Hero Scar-vet, Cold one, Spear, Shield, Light Armor 117p Core 18 Saurus, hw, shield, musician 204p Special 5 Cold One Riders 175p Saurus tie up whatever I´m facing and the cold ones comes in the flank to save the day. I would like to include the cold ones just to try them out. I know everyone says they are not worth it but lizards riding around on stupid lizards is just awsome, Basing it on the battalion box will get me lots of bits to convert some scar-vets and old ones since I´m not planning to run tempelguard even if I eventually get a slann. At 2500 this list includes an oldblood on a carnosaur and 2 normal stegadons, my magic defence comes from 2 skink priests. My problem here is that I only have one unit of 30 Saurus at 2500. As I never have played Lizards I have no idea how many I need, I normally play skaven so seeing theese small units just freaks me out a little. Last list now, basing it on a Stegadon Kit and a box of Saurus 500p Hero Skink Priest, Plaque of Tepok, Blood Statuette of Spite 105p Core 14 Saurus, Hw, Shield, Musician 160p Special 1 Stegadon 235p Best of both worlds and really the same strategy as the last one, my Saurus tie up something and the steg comes around to help, trying to keep the skink alive will be the main struggle here but with some planning I can hopefully make it. This ends up with a carnosaur as my general, 2 units of 26 or 28 saurus, some skirmishers but only this one stegadon to help the carnosaur get to the enemy lines. So there you have it, a wall of text from a Lizard noob, hope you guys and gals can help me decide and if any one can throw in some good tactics it would be nice. Thanks a bunch
heeey. the ones that are saying coc are not worth it arent kidding around! Blood statuette is not worth it! (no matter the points size!) Both stegadons and carnosaur will get shot down when not having a slann to heal them. You might want to take an engine of the gods later on also to boost your magic phase. i think you should go for list number 1, but take one unit with blowpipes and take amulet of itzl instead of blood statuette.
