So the draft of the rules pack for the next European Team Championships have been released. http://www.rankingshq.com/etc/article.aspx?ArticleTypeId=2&ArticleId=218 Only needing one rank to disrupt jumps out at me and will completely change a lot of current 8th edition lists. What do you guys think?
I still think it's far to early into 8th to be starting comp, especially since the rough draft has several MAJOR changes in it.
Seems to me they just don't want to play 8th edition. They are still stuck in a 7th edition mindset. I am surprised they didn't remove the measure whenever you want.
want to say one thing "dum". so why they play 8th? they should play 7 instead. it seems that they didint fully played 8 ed and found out all of the nice things, i agree that there are some stupid things asswell. but limiting power dice and dd? lol.
IMO uncomped 8th edition is something very very awfull (2x Stank, Popemobile, 3x Cannons, 2x Mortars, 50 Flagelants etc etc.), but those comps are way too cruel, BUT they are only a "draft" and will be changed soon
ETC is a team game where most people play for the draw then go for something else depending on whats going on around them. A lot of people didnt't like ETC play style because it promoted point denial and bunker themed armies. Now 8th edition is about point denial and bunker themed armies anyway, so they HAD to change it up if ETC wasn't to be a turtle fest. It's all about context. ETC is the world cup of warhammer, but at the same time, if you have no interest in it, this comp does not affect you. If you are interested in the ETC and you still don't like the comp, bare in mind its a early draft and it will change. The steadfast stuff in particular is already being scrutinised.
