    Hi everyone,

I'm attending a small tournament next weekend and I could really use the help of people here. I haven't played Lizardmen for long and I feel I'm at a significant disadvantage to most of the people I will be playing. The tournament is ETC style, so 2250 for me with Lizardmen limits (http://warhammer.org.uk/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=68226).

My current list is as follows:

Oldblood - scimitar of the sun resplendant, light armour, enchanted shield, glyph necklace, mounted on carnosaur

Skink Priest - lvl2, engine of the gods diadem of power, dispell scroll

Scar-Veteran - bsb, hide of the cold ones, great weapon

    10 skink skirmishers - blowpipes

    10 skink skirmishers - blowpipes

19 saurus warriors - full command, spears

18 saurus warriors - full command, spears

6 saurus cavalry - full command, warbanner

    3 terradons

    3 terradons

    1 salamander

    Total: 2250

    My own thoughts:
    - After only one test battle, I have realised if the EotG dies (along with the priest) I only have 2 dispell dice.
    - This army has no magic offence, so all it has is combat and defence.

I would really appreciate some experienced advice to toughen this army list up.

With ETC rules I find it hard to make an effective magically offensive list (slann is too expensive IMO and you have too few power dice to effectively control the magic phase, priests are good for support but you can't really count on getting the spells you need)

Having said that, magic defence is essential, especially if you will be facing TK or VC - they have lots of low lvl spells that they cast with one dice so you would need the dispel dice to stop the most painful.

Personally, I prefer to take 2 priests in order to have some protection in the magic phase (and get to cast some spells if i'm lucky).

Anyways, here is my current ETC list (which I still need to test out a bit) if you want to get some ideas:

    OB on carno,
    lv2 with engine + wardrums
    lv1 scroll caddy
    spear-a-don

    18 spearsaurus
    18 spearsaurus
    10 skirmishers
    10 skirmishers
    10 skirmishers

    3 terries

I'm sorry but I'm quite new, what is a spear-a-don? I take it it's a skink chief on terradon, but with what equipment?

I believe spear-a-don refers to a Skink Chief on a stegadon with a Stegadon war-spear for the extra D6 impact hits.

Is it the Stormydd Tân Tournament in Cardiff you are going to?

A Spear-o-don is a Skink Chief on Steg with the War Spear. Obviously its better to put him on an Ancient for the better strength but the rules pack won't allow us that if we have a EOTG which I think is too useful not to take.

Some more magic defence is needed as Aranigej said. I would personally drop the salamander and some of the saurus for another Skink Priest. Champs in Saurus blocks arent worth the points unless you have one for protecting your Scar-Vet BSB in challenges.

The other big problem you will be facing is gunlines which is going to be a big worry for your Steg and Carnosaur. Make sure they are out of LOS incase you don't get first turn. Then either pray the EOTG ward save works for you and charge them up as quick as possible or hold back till the terradons have dealt with them. You could also do the Jaguar Warrior combo on your Scar Vet which would allow him to charge out at Warmachines in the first turn if you are lucky.

I was considering taking a Carno list but decided on Slann in the end.

    Here is my list

    Slann
    Focus of Mystery
    Cupped Hand
    BSB
    Dispel Scroll

ETC rules can be found here: http://warhammer.org.uk/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=6822

I like both those lists guys, thanks for the help. I'm finding a carnosaur trouble and I may go with a Slann. I'm not sure though, watch this space and I'll post a carny and slann list soon.

Here's a radical thought: what about no engine?
