Here's hoping we can summon some monsters. The Facebook group made it sound like we can't summon everything. Also I'm still holding out for a carnosaur change

I was hoping to see a little more, but it seems GW doesn't want to reveal that much (or maybe it simply has not much more to reveal...).

I quite like this summoning mechanic: it is not complicated, it forces some choices…
The only thing I don't like much (but it is a minor thing) is having another thing to keep track of.

I hope summoning will be a thing in the Second Edition (not abused, just frequent) so I'm curious to discover how much points will our units cost.

An interesting question is what the 14-17 result on the Engine of the Gods will summon. And if that also costs Celestial Conjuration Points.

I too really hoped for more info, some updated warscrolls or something. Wondering what the EOTG will do with the summoning roll.

As I said earlier our units suffer from the vanilla warscroll experience. Ideally most of the saurus units get a change (armor buff) since mystic shield has been changed. Hopefully they see that the only battleline most people are running are skinks and do something for saurus as well.

Very nice mechanic, but i am a bit confused (english is not my First language so that May be the problem)

It says before casting a spell, instead of casting that spell the slann general can create 3 pts

Does that mean we need to declare a spell and can't cast that spell in the same turn? (Instead of casting THAT spell)

Are we able to do this for every 3 spell Slots so that we can get 9 points?

I think its 3 points per spell you sacrify. I'm not too excited about seraphon summoning mechanism, but I have to wait and see the whole of our army. Why not star-/priests for generating points? Aren't they doing all that priestly stuff...so it seems 2 astroliths could be mandatory. Additionally I'd like to know what the real heavy hitters will cost. It may be useful to summon a unit of skinks to grab an objective once in a while. Well, perhaps too pessimistic. Dunno.

How high does the summoning chart go then?

If running (2) Slann, can I generate 18 per turn and just have a list designed to keep them and (2) Astrolith bearers alive, and then summon in the best units for the job in every game? Sure, it means owning a lot of toys (the only reason I think this is what may be possible) but to have the right tools every time would be massive.

As it says General slann i think only one can generate them, same for the Astrolith as it says one or more

So does this mean Kroak can generate 12 points potentially per hero phase.....

I think/hope it does! I think for the EotG it will be a free summon bc its random, the points do seem weird, 6 for a salamander seems crazy but I like 12 for terradons lol.

It looks that way, but you have to forego casting spells to do it, so it's probably not worth doing outside of maybe the first turn of the game.

With a Slann and Astrolith, you have a potential 13 points per hero phase. With Kroak, its a potential 16, but you'll probably want to cast a minimum of 1 spell.

Assuming the faction abilities and everything remain the same, you'll be able to cast Curse of Fates and Summon Starlight with a Vast Intellect Slann and still generate 5-7 points per turn if you also have an Astrolith bearer. I don't think any competitive list would be able to pass up an extra 10 man unit of skinks every turn at practically no cost. Maybe skip vast intellect for double teleport and summon a starpriest on the first turn.

This has me so happy. I can't even. I'm hoping that behemoths hit the summons table. Wouldn't it be grand to plop down a Carnosaur in the late game?

Independent of wether you have One or more astroliths you get d3

Only slann general can do rituals

The chart is incompleate I believe we will be able to summon most of the army

This mechanic is really strong even with the slann casting only 2 spells per turn ( sacrificing one) you will be generating 3+1+D3 a turn (6 on average) so a free units of skinks every turn

To be honest I am really pumped about this change. Probably one of the biggest army buffs so far ( second only by death )

Probably the EoG will give you extra summoning points if you get that result

A vast intellect slann Is Able to cast his 2 spells (curse and starpriest spell. )With the Mystic shield nerf your ipotetic situation Is really interesting. I think a slann maybe plus astrolith will be a must have in a competitve game

Neat. I can't wait to summon a carnosaur for 28 points!
