I was wondering, what has been everyone's favourite model to paint?

I absolutely loved painting my steg. It has a good variety of options and.... "textures" isn't the right word, but I hope you know what I mean....
The carnosaur, however, was kind of a let down to me.
    Cold ones are also fun.

I was thinking of either getting a Stegadon or a Slann Mage Priest as they both look like great models to paint but wanted to know which models everyone else really enjoyed painting.

Salamanders are a favorite of mine. It's a shame I only need two.

Who can define how many salamanders a man needs.... (three? seven?) I personally loved painting the Slann, but not so much his palanquin. The Steg was awesome to paint, and it is such a focal point of the army. Go Steg.

I found the steg a great model to assemble, but a bit of pain to paint since I wanted to highlight each scale individually, it took a long time. I found the body didn't really lend itseld to my style of painting either, the highlighting there was tough.

My favourite so far is the carnosaur and I'm really happy with the way mine turned out, its one of my favourite models that I've painted.

Mine would be a toss-up between any character model I convert or the jungle swarms.
Both give me a wide range of colors to use.

Mine is either the Slann (Haven't got my hands on a new steg yet) or Eldar Farseers, both of which are a joy to paint. (Although the Slann's palanquin can get annoying at times).

Painting the Slann was really fun and I can imagine it would be even more great now that I have started BLENDING!!!!

So far my favorite has been my EoTG (still working on howdah), but I think the Slann may be more fun then it.

I already have like 8 hours into my EoTG (painting every detail) and I expect my Slann will be a 10 hour model as well. I do models like that over more then one day, and they come out very well. I wish I could show you, but I don't have a camera, nor a photobucket account or anything, and I wouldn't know how to do it, Lol.

But if it helps put it in perspective, when I do a model it takes me maybe...2 hours for a character, and I do my blocks in an assembly line. But when I do 10+ hours on one model, I can just about match the GW cover pictures in quality.

A guy that goes to my gaming club worked for GW for 10 years, and he was really surprised when I told him I started painting just 2-3 months ago. Of course his models are GW quality but he does entire blocks of troops in 2 hours all at that level. Damn people and their talents I don't have... >__<

    Thanks alot everyone.

I currently only have 2 regiments of skinks and 1 of saurus warriors, what do you think I should look to buy next?

I want something I will really enjoy painting but also something challenging. My initial thoughts are either a Slann Mage Priest or a Stegadon but there are so many well sculpted models I can't decide.

The steg and Slann are great IF you know what colours you want them to be, or at least have an idea. Remember, they will be different to your troops. I knew exactly what I wanted my steg to look like, so I got stuck in and got it painted. Same with the carnosaur. On the other hand, I have absolutely no idea what colour I want the Slann to be so its really tough to get started since I'm not even sure where to begin.

If you have a good idea, pick one of them. If not, then grab a cool looking character like Chakax because at least you have a scheme already.

    Hi
Methinks that kroq gar/grymloq are great to paint (even though i have not got them yet)
because they seem to have a alott of detail and places on them for me to try out new ideas!
hope to hear about more favourite models!
