Just a quick question about fear/hexes reducing WS. If I reduce a units weapon skill (to 1 for arguments sake), if there is a hero in that unit with the dueling blades.. do they still attack and defend with WS 10? Or is it reduced to 1? Thanks!
I think the spell would take precedence because the blades increases the users base WS, but then the spell brings that down. If you cannot come to a solution during a game, there have been cases where two items opposing each other that do the opposite simply cancel each other out, so the weilder would return to his normal WS. However, I don't think that would be the proper way to play it.
I'm siding with Strewart on this one. The blades modify the "base" stats, then the spell modifies the stat. He wouldn't be reduced to WS 1 most likely as he has a higher weapon skill, so if you take the unit from WS4 to WS1, the hero would go from WS10 to WS7.
Depends on how the spel is worded, I don't recall at the moment. is it something like -6 ws or more like unit is WS1 ?
I didn't know there was a spell that reduced WS to 1 (or are you just talking about failing a fear test?) >.< I'll have to look at those again! For the 2 scenarios If it's reduced by an amount, it's WS 10 - <the amount> If it's reduced to a value, it's the value
I think it would be reduced to WS 1. The idea is that the character with the fencer blades fears (or is terrified) of the model that has fear. If the unit has a WS of 3 or a WS of 4, it is still dropped to WS 1. WS 4 is not dropped by 3, it's dropped to 1.
