If, say, our saurus or TG are fighting a unit who have GW, what happens?

HE/DE will have ASF, but GW is ASL.

    Who hits first?

    Thanks.

ASF and ASL cancel each other out. So, if you have both rules then you attack at your inititive (and do not get ASF rerolls).

So GW Elves vs Temple Guard still attack first (because of higher inititive) but they do not reroll their misses.

You better dont fight this blocks.

Saurus Warriors die like skinks. Better remove skinks at 5 points.

But templeguard is worse, as they dont have parry save.

avoid those combats unless you can fight in their flank.

Or iif we can buff our unit. A buffed templeguard unit can take on white lions. WD is a very good toolbox for this and any number of buffs/hexes will easily swing the battle in our favor.

With that said I agree. White Lions are ridiculous to fight :)

Personally I've never had much problem with HE swordmasters. Yeah, they can deal out some damage, but they're as fragile as wet paper. The HE player in my group is determined to make them worth while, but they die in droves. If you're worried about getting in a fight with them, hit them with a salamander blast and then bring in your saurus block. Template weapons are the bane of HE.

    Executioners are just as bad.

Against either army, Salamanders are your best friend.

Thanks all - I did fear that even allowing for ASL we'd still get the $hitty end of the stick. Oh well.

I've a re-match against High Elves tonight from beating them last week.

And if you've seen the batrep I wrote up, despite one of two sallies being a very hungry little blighter, they did some lovely stuff on both swordmasters and white lions. Hoping to repeat this tonight.

We're going with the same lists, although he may change a lore on one of his mages. I think I'll keep Loremaster High Magic, but possibly switch to Beasts from Heavens on the Lvl 2 skink.

I know Wyssans is great, but the casting cost vs Iceshard when the Slann is hungry for Power Dice...!!!

Sounds like fun Gary_M! My friend that I play against most often is a big HE player, so I'm looking forward to your next battle report.

@lordkingcrow thanks. Hope to get batrep written up later today (UK Time) and get posted. It was a great game. Went with Beasts instead of Heavens and was very glad I did.....
