Been doing alot of reading these last weeks and this is what I got for my tourney list.

    LORD:
    Lone Slann (Lore of Light)
    Rumination, Ethereal
    BSB, Standard of Disciple

    HERO:
Skink Priest Level 1 + Dispel Scroll

    CORE:
    20 Saurus + FC
    20 Saurus + FC
    20 Saurus + FC
    16 Skinks + 2 Krox w/ Std Music

    SPECIAL:
    5 Chamo
    5 Chamo

    RARE:
    Ancient Stegadon
    Salamander + 1 Handler
    Salamander + 1 Handler
    ~2000 POINTS

Idea is 3 solid blocks of saurus with Slann behind buffing with SKrox and Steg flanking on sides with salamanders blasting from the gaps

Had to run really bare bones charactes to fit in the extra Saurus block.
One option is to drop 20 saurus for:
    Becalming, Cube of Darkness
    8 skinks for skrox
    4 more chamos
and an extra 2 saurus on the existing blocks.

Local meta seems alot of chaos (warrior, beasts, deamons)
And only one dwarf and one empire player.

    Thoughts and comments guys?

Only one dwarf and one empire? so your steg is gonna be pretty safe from warmachines unless you get a bad draw.

You do not really need the champions in the saurus unit so dropping all three of those would give you some points to play with, maybe increase the two chameleon units by one each?

Aside from that there's not a lot to comment on.

Very similar to the list I run, and very solid. I would advise to try and find some points to take a Scar-Vet. They really add some punch to the Saurus units. Other than that, fantastic list.

Solid list. Though blocks is too small for my liking. I wouldn't run below 24. prefair 30. Especially when running light you need the bodies to stop deathstars from raping through you within a single turn.

Very similar to my 2k list. I don't use a Stegadon, as it dies to Skaven/Dwarf/Empire cannons or concentrated DE firepower every time I've playtested one around here, and that's just too many points even if it is a big distraction for shooting.

The multiple blocks of Saurus, even if they are smaller, work well for me with Lore of Light. Without the Stegadon, I have points for 2 units of 24 and 1 unit of 22, but I don't see the 20 crippling them. The only other difference is I stick my Slann in with 16 Temple Guard and take Becalming Cogitation instead of Ethereal, because there are just too many Skaven around here and the true line of sight makes a Slann very susceptible to enemy spells.

I like the level 1 Skink Priest. It's not just a dispel caddy, the Lore of Heavens signature spell works really well for me with all the shooting in my area (and also helps in CC) even if I don't get something more useful for a specific game.

Good, solid list though. It should do well against the Chaos armies provided you don't get a lot of bad magic phases.

Your actually right, since my slann doesn't have an arcane item he could just take the scroll and drop the priest. I've heard alot of feedback about the steg and I agree from a strictly winning feedback probably should drop him. But I bought him and painted him so I want him fielded :)

But I will try a list without the steg and with a TG on paper and see what happens

Thanks again for all the feedback guys

That Skink Priest can be useful, heavens is not a horrible lore and the default spell can be handy to toss out there to get the opponent to think about dispelling which spells. It's a hefty investment and won't "make its points back" but you have units that can make over there points back and the priest can help them do better.

    Just throwing that out there.

Took another look at the list and grudingly dropped the Steg and picked up some TG.
I think this is a pretty solid list. 4 good blocks, warmachine counters and salamanders.
2000 Point tourney list with ~115 points remaing.
    10 more saurus or Scarvet (GW + Glittering Scales)/(ASF + LA/Shield)

    Life Slann - Rumination, Becalming
BSB, Standard of Disciple, Cupped Hands (415)

    Skink Priest Lvl 1 + Scroll (90)

    Core (788):
    24 Saurus + Music + Std
    24 Saurus + Music + Std
    20 Skink Cohort + 2 Krox + Std + Music

    Special (436):
    6 Chamo
    6 Chamo
    16 Temple Gaurd + FC

    Rare (160):
    2 Salamander + 2 Handlers

id say give the slann loremaster and spend the other couple points on TG (4 by my count). the bigger that brick the better. split the sallies since you only have 2. will let you pick 2 targets instead of 1 and make your opponent split fire or concentrate on 1 at a time. normally id run more so i don't have to split but i like the way your list is put together so i wouldnt want to fiddle with removing core. everything else looks good. you should be able to deal with anything
