    Hi all,

Finally getting round to painting and playing with my Lizardmen army but still not sure what to go for...

Choice 1: The usual Slann (Life/Light) in TG unit with Skinks, Saurus, Terradons, A.Stegadon etc to backup. Lots of examples of how to play this but if anyone has specific advice for Lore of Light in 2000-2500 point games I'd appreciate it.

Choice 2: (i.e. what I'd really like to run) Oldblood on Carnosaur with ASF, Potion of Might and Armour of Destiny. 2 Priests (one with cube) focussed on defensive magic use). Couple of units of Saurus, skinks, Terradons, A.Stegadon, Salamanders etc backup.
Does anyone have any real experience of an Oldblood/Carnosaur army at 2000-2500 points?

I have models for either one so that's not an issue.

Also, has anyone tried using units of 1 Razordon? Wondering how they'd work.

    Thanks!

Go with what you want to do. You can make it work but you will need a definitive plan to deal with template war machines and bolt throwers. I use Chameleons and occassionally a unit of terradons. In an average 2000-2500 pt game, I would take at least 3 units of chameleons in a 3x 7 or 2 x 7 and 1 at 8 (that is only because I only have 23 chameleons...just ordered 4 more and plan on getting a total of 30).

I like to use lore of light (on my slann), but if you go with a carnosaur, you can use the signature spell for heavens (Iceshard blizzard) to hex your opponents. The higher casting value of the spell has a 48 inch range with a casting value of 10. This would allow you to effectively shut down 2 warmachines (if you take the signature spell on both priests).

If I were to go with a carnosaur build, I would take a saurus heavy (Around 30 saurus) list with 2 skrox flanking units ( Priests go in the skrox units).

I would then take the three units of chameleons. I would also take 2 units of 2 salamanders. I would finish out the list with a unit of 9 Cold one cavalry with a scar vet BSB with the extra die for a charge banner.

On the priests, I would take one dispel scroll and the cube of darkness.

My preliminary Carnosaur list was going to be...

The Oldblood on Carnosaur described above
Skink Priest lvl 2 with Diadem of Power
Skink Priest with Cube of Darkness
    Saurus BSB
2x 20-25 Saurus with hand weapons and command
    2x 10 Skink Skirmishers
    4 Terradons
    2x 6 Chameleon Skinks
    Salamander with extra handler
    Ancient Stegadon

Coming in around 2500 points or so, adding a unit of Sink-Kroxigor if I could find the points somewhere

Saurus with BSB march up and wade through enemy blocks
Skinks take wounds things that could threaten the Carnosaur
Terradons and Chameleons take out war machines and anything else they can find
Salamander and Skink-Kroxigor support the Saurus blocks
Carnosaur and Ancient Stegadon take opposite flanks and crush everything
Priests shut down as much magic as possible and debuff enemy shooting. If they can cast some augments
