Haven't had time to play yet but have some games lined up in the near future. This is my first list with 8th lizardmen so criticism and suggestions appreciated. Slann with BSB, Focus of mystery, Soul of Stone, Harmonic Convergence, Channelling Staff and Standard of disc. 2 skink priests with a dispel scroll each ( cube and regular) 1x skink cohort with musician 3x skink skirmishers with blowpipes 30 saurus full command Hw and shield 26 Templeguard full command 3 Terradons 6 Chameleons 7 Chameleons 2x2 salamander packs Ancient steg with sharpened horns
that looks pretty cool, what level are your priests??? the skink cohort unit looks pretty useless... i would also recommend changing one or 2 units of skirmishers to javelin skinks. blowpipes got nerfed hard in 8th edition... i would also advise that you include 1 or 2 sarus scar veterans. they don't even need magical gear. their killing potential will really help your sarus units perform at maximum effectiveness. you also don't have much to deal with high armor...
Skink priests are lvl 1, I could remove the cohort and add a skirmisher more, so I could have 2 units of jav and 2 of blowpipes, would love a couple of scarvets but what to remove?
If you wanted to make room for a Scar-Vet or two you could drop the terradons first, then the FC for your saurus and TG to just banner and musician, drop soul of stone and drop your chamo skinks to just 5 each. I've really never been a huge fan of the terradons since 8th BRB came out that's why I would scrap them first but I do know they have some valuable redirecting capabilities that could change the outcome of a battle.
Cohorts aren't much worse than skirmishers. The only thing you really lose is march and shoot, which isn't a huge deal. You still have an 18 inch effective range (move + range), and you can always stand and shoot. Blowpipes didn't change in 8th ed... Javelins just got better (gained 4 inches of range, but take a range penalty).
