Ordered Chakax, threw a list together for him. Didn't intend to make it 2500, It just ended up there ha!

    Chakax 335

    20 Saurus warriors 250

    20 Saurus warriors 250

    19 Temple Guard
    Razor standard

    2 Salamanders
    2 extra snacks

    Ancient stegadon

    Camo skinks 8

    10 skink skirmishers

    10 skink skirmishers

    10 skink skirmishers

    10 skink skirmishers

Light on Saurus, Heavy on skinks. The plan is to screen my army, shoot, and stand and shoot. Haven't decided on a lore yet, Although heavens is sticking out to me on this one, -1 to shooting CC and leadership could keep my skinks alive a lot longer. Re-roll to hits and wounds of 1. Makes the shooting all the more effective.

Well its either that, or light. Was toying with bringing a skink priest but I wasnt sure how. I could demote the stegadon and some skinks but I'm unsure.

    Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Mostly I think it looks pretty solid.

Magic with this list should be mostly fairly defensive, so I would play Lore of Shadows or as you said Lore of Heavens. Basically, that number of skink skirmishers will struggle to kill anything as large as a Skaven or an Empire army, nor will they be able to handle anything with heavy armor. That's why you need to hit them with the -D3 Toughness spell then pound the big units with firey breath. Even knights won't stand up to that kind of punishment! If you do bring the skink priest, be sure to give him the Diadem of Power. Combined with the Becalming Cogitation, that will more or less silence anything the enemy can throw at you.

On a related note, I would suggest having maybe an extra salamander or two. Oh, and no matter what way you slice it, those skink skirmishers are *going* to die. They are very difficult to keep alive, which is why they are generally used as speed humps more than anything else.

Level two skink is bringing two arcane items, you're gona have to drop one of them, sadly.

Other than that though, it all seems pretty good. How will you be fielding those saurus?

T6 skinks, you cruel person! lol

Aha, Keen eye quick, thats my bad XD.

I missed saying that both saurus have full command, its included in the points :p

I tend to have them flanking the TG unit and slightly ahead, I angle them and wait for a charge. Usually get a flank with the TG if I am charged :p

A tried and true tactic Leo ^^. Yesterday I got lucky with one such manouver, the general of a vampire army ran headlong into a unit of saurus with a unit og TG in that facing. Issued a challenge to the vap, I lost cobat and held, then the temple guard flank charged him. Didn't even need any wounds, death by combat res ^^.

Same thing with TK's yesterday! :D I blew his heirophants unit with combat rez after a few turns of shooting from my A.steg and some skinks. Walked up some saurus and multi charged.

That pop won the game. Tbh, thats the only sound tactic against tough undead methinks :3

Only problem with the heirophant slaying is now the enemy general can keep his alies on high leadership, so unfortunately they're hard to take down in one go with a well-placed assault... Seems you got lucky with that one though.

I played VC with this list today at my local club. Managed to crush him XD

I miscast and rolled D3 wizard levels and spells, threw it to him with cupped hands and his highest level was a 3 was all the juicy spells, lost them all. His other vamp was in blood knights which I tied up with my Cold ones

After that it was a massacre. Lore of Light for the win.
