Hey I'm new to Lizardmen and WH Fantasy and I'm currently working on my first army list of 1000 pts. I was looking for suggestions on what the make up of the lists e.g. what units you would include, which ones are not worth it etc. Cheers
Here is my first attempt: Heroes: Saurus Scar Vet w/ Carnosaur Pendant, Burning Blade of Chotec Lvl 2 Skink Priest w/ Cloak of feathers, Rod of the Storm Core: 1 unit of 16 Saurus warriors w/ hand weapons full command 1 unit of 20 Saurus w/ spears full comand 1 unit of 12 skink skirmishers w/ blowpipes skirmisher brave Special: 1 unit of 5 Chameleons w/ stalker Rare: 1 Salamander hunting pack w/ 1 salamander and 4 skink handlers Total: 995 points I will be playing against mainly Wood Elves and High Elves at first
Not got the book to hand but i think your heros are too expensive, in 1k you can only spend 250 total on heros and at first glance yours are worth more then that, but i may be wrong. For Scar-vet, drop the carnosaur pendent and take shield and light armour, this gives him a 3+ save and cheaper For priest, drop rod of storm, take Plaque of Tepok, then he'll know 3 spells. I'd drop the brave and stalker from the 2 skink units, there just not worth the points IMO. This would then leave you with about 50 points ish for a few extra skinks perhaps. Its an idea but i'm pretty sure you can't field those heros as is. Hope this helps
Yeah I was going through the book a little while ago and realised i'd forgotten about the 25% thing and checked em out and they are too expensive, so your right about that
Ok, I like the number of saurus at this level. Maybe go 2 units of 18 (6w by 3d) These are a solid back bone that will prove tough to bring down for most. At this points level it might be worth taking normal skinks over chameloens but i love chameleons so its a preference thing. Against elves of all varieties that sally is going to be a nightmare for them, look after him well and use his march 12 inches and still shoot to good effect by getting in a good firing position and letting rip. most people on here will tell you that an ideal distance from the enemy to shoot with a sally is about 8 inches, they are correct if you want to do maximum damage.
